qswitched didn't anticipate us trying to play Space Battleship Yamato. Reaction wheels are great for mini-turrets with low moments of inertia.

gaping holes they leave in my armor protection when they get destroyed. any tips? For the outermost layer of armor, make a 1/2mm layer of silica aerogel, then space it 2meters, all of your turrets will now sit outside of your main armor, and no gaping holes will be left when your turrets get destroyed. This works for small turrets. When you have 8m+ turrets, add multiple cm (or more) of quality armor.

*Shrug* nothing new to see here, boys.

Venus is potentially terraformable. Luna, definitely not.
Even Mars is iffy. It's weak gravity means the atmosphere simply cannot be at a density which unmodified humans can breath, long term.

Sometimes, my launched missiles spontaneously explode as they leave the Drone. I noticed this even with my new split/spaced launcher system. This frags my carrier drones quite often.
EDIT: I find if I move my carriers at a moderate pace (100-500m/s) and do not perform any kind of acceleration/deceleration/turning while firing missiles, they won't explode.

Ah. This reminds me of someone's UFOs. They had horrid volume/cross sectional area efficiency, but compensated with really good edge-on kinetic deflection.

I don't have dedicated decoy drones optimized for being a decoy (nice idea there btw), but I have laser drones using MPD thrusters that fulfill the same purpose in addition to doing damage. I feel that it's probably more efficient overall to do things that way. Your laser drone costs 240 KC? My 1 GW lasersats run almost 10x that... Granted, half the cost is carting around kilotons of decane...

Is it even possible to go past 2.20e+020 neutron flux and still have the reactor run for long enough? Use moderator. It's not pretty, but it works.

another practical reality breaker design, you can actually mount these things on more or less practical ships without breaking the bank or the scales: Design does not work at all.

Personally im still mad at congress for what they fucking did to the shuttle. Frankly speaking, the Shuttle is an obsolete design. I'm far more mad at our fucking treehuggers killing off everything with 'Nuclear' in its name.

Are there any "standard" large nukes (over 100MT) yet? EDIT: Here is my offering; an almost straight up upgrade for the Tessfield 1.6 MT device; 12 KG extra mass for an hair raising 390 megajoules of energy. Cost is increased by 2,000 credits.

Is this also wishlist thread? I think the single most important thing missing now is mission editor. I think most of the players would be satisfied with almost any kind of one for now, we fear no UI. Will PayPal donation become here on the website or forums be introduced at some point? The game can be bought for oneself only once. Can gift copies to friends. I'm holding off for now, since I'm pretty sure they will bend and if I just gift them a copy they might not play it.

Currently, aside from crashes, the top items I'm working on are missile guidance, proximity detonator issues, and railgun/coilgun issues. AMAZING simulator you have here. Convinced a friend to buy it. Working on two more friends. That being said, yeah, missiles, warheads, and especially rail/coilguns have problems. There are some 'easy' features I'd like to request, though. -Add Osmium as a thermocouple material. (Other players have asked for it too)-Add a Intensity chart to lasers; just like the way guns/rails/coils have a short reference for range estimation, Lasers could use a similar little box stating X watts at 10 KM, 50 KM, 500KM. -Some way to fine tune component placement optimization. I've been dragging my modules back and forth, hoping I didn't go a few centimeters too far, to minimize cross-section in my designs. As a result, my mouse hand is in quite a bit of pain. EDIT:Oh, and please fix RCS thruster's weird wobbling/overdrifting behaviour. Sometimes consume vast amounts of dV and still fails to aim the broadside.

You need to reduce the power of the nuclear reactor and re-tune the pumps to the new energy level. That'll get things working again. From there it's just a matter of re-tuning your bell thickness, shape, and regen-cooling to get them close to what they were pre-patch. On this topic, one thing I noticed is that either 1) regenerative cooling didn't work at all prior to v1.0.7 or 2) it didn't work very well and/or only in certain restricted situations. Almost all of my custom engines broke as well, but (IIRC) every single one was fixable - and actually made better - once I turned regen cooling up to max. In some situations, especially on NTRs, sub 100% Regenerative Cooling is optimal; usually between 17-33% on the engines I've been working on.

Review: AHI provides a good base to build sniper guns from, but if you are a Beryllium Copper miner you really should be lobbying them to buy materials from you instead. They could do more with a thinner barrel by replacing the material, dropping the cost by a good amount. I also recommend replacing the payload of the out-of-the-box weapon with concretedonkey's technique for very thin explosive payloads; this should increase the precision for smaller targets considerably. Even when firing at minimum cyclic rate of fire, Needleguns cause extreme lag upon hitting the target. They are, however, disgustingly effective compared to conventional projectiles.
