Ah. This reminds me of someone's UFOs. They had horrid volume/cross sectional area efficiency, but compensated with really good edge-on kinetic deflection.

Yea, this is the remnants of one anti-laser attempt I had. Just hide all the modules behind a re-entry type heat shield, then run and gun. Turned out throwing deadly and laser resistant missiles at the enemy was more effective, and the run and gun was lacking weapons that will kill faster than the lasers will disarm them. Though, this somewhat gets around that.

This is good because it finally allows us to armor our turrets with the same scheme as the rest of the ship. I vote this not be fixed until we get composite turret armor!

Put a radiation shield in front of the ship / turrets to act as armor for maximum cheese. (ship still under development needs a bunch more km of lasers to justify the enormous rad shield ) But really turrets should run a line of sight check before being able to fire to get rid of exploits like this.
