I'm most intimidated by Dhan 's One Trick Pony. If our designs face off, it looks like a mutual kill would be the most likely outcome. Also I notice its reactor got updated to the version in my entry (my publicly released reactor is v3). Nice, lol. Out of all the designs, yours also scares me the most. Although if we get to face off I have a feeling you will win the trading game with your two ships to my one. The reactor in my ship? I took the one you shared a while back and did some small tweaks to it.

The reactor in my ship? I took the one you shared a while back and did some small tweaks to it. Did you also rename it to "[AE] 1.01 GW Reactor v4"? Because that is the name visible for the reactor in the screenshot of your ship, which happens to be exactly the name of the reactor in my ship. And it would not be possible to have 2 modules with the same name on the same game, so they are the same module. I'm thinking AdmiralObvious (intentionally or unintentionally) swapped out the reactor in your ship as part of the "minor code fixes by the host." Which I find amusing.

I didn't actually touch the reactors, all I did was change the code for the MPD Dhan used since for some reason, the game didn't want to recognize the fact that 90 means 90 degree gimbals, not "it's not a number m8". Edit: Good news everyone, the game crashed on my first, second, and third attempt at recording the first round! I'm pretty sure the game can't handle a few thousand tiny payloads being fired at once.

Well, I managed to get one group not to crash. I almost finished recording a second one, until the point where the "losers" missile fleet tried to ensure MAD, which then crashed the game.
I'll upload the event either way, let you guys decide who wins.

I prefer 'Reckless' or 'Aggressive' AI if possible, rather than Launcher (mostly because they send drones 25 at a time) for Patrol Carrier, not that it really mattered in this case. That looked like it was definitely a mutual to me, you may need a specific rule for that sort of thing (last to die gets half a point?), or there are going to be a lot of draws. (Also, wth, I thought I had my launcher set in such a way as to start combats with missiles at a longer minimum range. Oops). I definitely see two disabled ships in the final screenshot, which is not a good sign Edit: Ah, I see. I think the first combat took so long that the missiles were actually well inside the usual engagement envelope when the previous battle ended and the next started.

Yeah, I just went with what made sense to me at the time, seeing the ship is essentially a carrier, with cannons for close defense, I don't think you'd want it to try and get into an intercept with an enemy.

I wonder what kind of armor it would take to deflect a kamikaze disabled drone.

I wonder what kind of armor it would take to deflect a kamikaze disabled drone. I ran the round 3 more times, once recorded, the other two not being recorded. When both ships engage, your ship wins handily, mostly due to the longer ranged weapons, and the lasers being able to knock out the guns on the drones. (I only recorded the one more, due to the fact that it hurt my PC to try and run it all, since both ships madly keep firing off drones at each other, and crashing eventually).

I wonder if ai doesn't try to dodge the missiles, will me front armor able to take the damage or not.

Since you're running combats already, AdmiralObvious , could you tell us the bracket for the tournament?

Since you're running combats already, AdmiralObvious , could you tell us the bracket for the tournament? So far i've assigned all ships random numbers, and run 3 of 4 of the first set of matches. I can't record all matches, but I do upload the most "significant" video, or try again repeatedly until a clear result is drawn, due to using a fairly small HDD, each video is surprisingly big. (Top versus bottom matches with asterisks have not run yet. + is a win - is a loss = is a draw) I MIGHT need to disqualify Dhan's ship, mostly due to the fact that i'm pretty sure his ship crashes the game, his ship fires 10 mg and 100 mg osmium "radiation shields", or "needles" at a rate of a few million RPM. The game really doesn't like it. Edit: Never mind. You'll see why in a moment.

I suspect that's just me legitimately winning in one second (I see laser sparks in the video).

I tested all the ships versus stock designs to make sure they all work, and so I could make good guesses on what type of AI would be most optimal for people who didn't provide one. I firmly believe your ship won the moment Dhan's ship started firing due to the AI trying to retaliate. I think your 32 lasers cored the ship.

I think your 32 lasers cored the ship. 36 lasers. ;P 32 is how many they can permanently radiate heat from, but they fire all 36 until the laser radiators get up to that point. My ships are working as intended.

Amusing (to me) note: given the cost and mass, you could afford all of the contestant entries as the player fleet in Vesta Overkill with 3Kt and 220Mc to spare. Poor Celestine Voitenko would never know what hit her. AdmiralObvious After the tourney is over could you do this as a bonus video?
