Dear, Admirals.
While our space fleet must be flexible, RFP have found that its admirals tend to develop different preferred fleet composition/specialization after being granted authority to develop their own. Many even developed their own modules and spaceship which are tailored to their preference.
It has been a logistic hell. But RFP would like to maintain the rights of the admirals to develop their own fleet, as many of their designed ships and modules tend to break physics. And breaking physics is beneficial to RFP.
Thus, the department of logistic would like to survey the admirals' preferred fleet composition and doctrine, with the aims to reorganize the logistics for our admirals.
RFP fleet composition and doctrine survey.:
1. What is the composition of your fleet? Please list all classes/roles of spacecrafts of your preferred fleet.
2. What are the propellants consumed by your fleet?
3. What are your fleet primary/secondary weapon types, their ammunition types, and their ammo consumption?
4. What are your doctrine in ship design? For example: multiple small ships or few large ships, narrow angled frontal engagement ships or broadsiders, micro drones or capital drones, ETC.
5. Any other special logistic demand.
Please answer the survey and submit the survey to the department of logistic at your convenience.

Can I have an efficient 100MW Decane MPD? I can make NTR and Resistojets, but making an efficient MPD at a desired power level is beyond me. 110Mw sadly, but 94% Thanks, this is great. I can tweak my reactors. I still don't really understand how to optimize MPD. My best attempt only got around 8x%. You have saved me and my super carrier here.

Because human takes a lot of space, energy, heat, everything, and is one of the worstweak point on a warship. We remove them from the Warship and create 'capital ship class drone' instead. Javeline Capital Wardrone, 55.9 tons wet and 30.9 tons dry, armed with 10MWe class weapons: three 3.3MWe microflak railguns and a 10MWe laser. Its primary defense is 9 tons of umbrella shield. The shield diameter is 11.5 while the drone total diameter without the umbrella is only 7.43m, the umbrella is more than wide enough to cover the whole drone including its radiators. But what make this drone stood out is not the drone itself, but the achievement of the drone compacting technology: Our engineers have successfully put a Ø11.5x34.5m (Ø7.43x31 with umbrella removed) drone inside a Ø1.09x34.5m storage capsule made of lithium. And it is stored in a ready to launch state.

Will the designer actually let us build and fly a design with interreflecting radiators? If multiple identical sets of radiators were named seperatly, such as Las Rad A, Las Rad B, ect, it wouldn't be such a micromanaging challenge to retract redundant numbers of rads. Yes. It does let us builld the ship. You can't rename the radiator in the same ring though. You cannot intersect two radiator module set in the same area.

They run at 1225K. They were dark because it wasn't firing at anything in both pictures. Those radiators glow nicely when it start burning things.

It is not so micro when you have fifty-something crews on board and years long mission.

I was thinking of how to use/counter lasers but somehow this is turning into missile discussion LOL.
But yeah, it's gimbal angle was quite wide, I've narrowed them down a bit and they are doing better now.

I was having an headache with the radiators of the ship I am making. The ship has a wet mass of 826t and dry mass of 326t, a small war ship. It has thin armor overall, but it has 'umbrella shield' in front that protect its weaker parts including its fragile radiators. The crew and reactor radiators are protected just fine, the problem is the 90MW laser radiators. They are huge. The shield cannot cover that, so I make them collapsible and collapse them in when fight in close range. This increase their chance of survival in combat. (The mounts are still busted from stray shots though.) This make me realize the usefulness of collapsible radiators other than minimizing drone size (and make things look cool). The radiator can be shielded by collapsing like I did, or redundant radiators folded and have only minimal radiator deployed in combat to reduce the chance of they getting shot. I'm not sure how the calculation in the game works, but maybe we can have redundant radiator in a ring without suffering from interreflection by folding those redundants ^^^ Like that, that is a ridiculous amount of redundant radiators. Minimal ship length usage. I am not going to use that though. Too much 'micro-management'. Another use of folding radiator I can think of is dodging missiles. Low power decoy can even be used by multi-GW class ship to dodge missile fleet by folding all radiators after launching the decoy. Doing so in engagement is impractical though.

Hide the laser behind your own ship (with a fat hull), though I kinda feel it is cheating (that should not be a valid physical shot path, particularly without consequence) and overpowered (they have to burn through your armor, but you don't have to burn through it). Wait... we can shoot through the hall? Even though my whole ship is min-maxed, that is still too meta. if you have trouble with hitting blkcandy use something that can't miss, nuclear weapons My other 5kt nukes still miss their effective range though. Anything bigger than that is reserved for long range missile barrage. I don't want it near my ship when I am under fire.

I hate using missiles. My micro missiles have 3km/s dV and 30g thrust and they still hit nothing. They shred the enemy into pieces (literally) when they do though.
Right now I counter laser with more counter laser drones.
But how do I protect my own primary lasers? Right now they are vulnerable against anything that can return fire. They are useful against drones and missiles in long range though.

Lasers are nasty. Not only they burn though missiles and drones, AI laser instantly burn all open laser mounts in a flash even at extreme range.
To counter enemy lasers, now I carry laser drones (which carry not so effective lasers). Once I enter a battle against enemy with laser, I deactivate my capital ship laser and launch these drones. They will take the laser attack.
Enemy laser will not switch target after disabling the drone laser and will continue to attack that drone until it is completely disabled, allowing me to destroy their laser with other drones or my capital ship laser.
This is effective against AI, but it feels too meta to exploiting AI targeting logic. How does anyone else counter enemy lasers?
Also is there a point in armoring those laser mounts? Any stray (or aimed, never sure which) shot in the lens will destroy the mount, regardless of the armor thickness or enemy shot power.
Sure I can deactivate them and close the lens when bullets start flying, but is there no way to use them in kinetic weapon shooting range? Hell, can it be use in a situation that enemy can return fire at all?
