UPDATING STATUS: Volunteers needed.Other than that, I'll work on my own ships and stuffs, and I'll announce them later. I guess the first product will be a downloadable ship designs and stuffs, then other elements would follow, but I'm no programming expert, so I will need volunteers. In few weeks, I'll be fully on.
Thanks for your cooperation, and looking forward to the future. The Astronavigator

Cool. Lets avoid politics this time around.
A bunch of stuff happened while you were gone. The first and third link in my signature is a great place to start ;p

PROJECT RPOSPEROUS Note 1: Has everyone forget this project?
---=o=---
Well, in any case, I might either turn the project into a company list and move on if nobody is really interested in the project's development, or continue it.

I think you should continue it, but maybe avoid all politics and ship movements, cuase that gets complicated fast (and hard to follow)

I think you should continue it, but maybe avoid all politics and ship movements, cuase that gets complicated fast (and hard to follow) I suppose, wars are result of political conflicts? The entire storyline would not make sense if there's nothing behind it. Or if you really want no politics, Project Prosperous would be a module collection pack. I'd like to do it that way, it's way easier.

I'd like to do it that way, it's way easier. Maybe not all politics, just have it in far broader strokes. Before it was like: Team A: I have 3 agents in orbit around jupiter in a hydrogen steamer Team B: I have a genetically engineered spy in place to disable the Eroupa mass driver Team C: once the mass driver is down the agents should divert the ship and ram it into the enemy production center The nitty gritty details got complicated fast, with all the alliances and exact ship movements and ships and stuff. So just do the politics in an easier to follow, broader sense

The company stuff was also nice since their was a comprehensive list in the beginning of the thread with each company and its description

Given that we now have custom campaign support, could it be put back on track?

I'll try.
One of the problems here is that this project requires all available owners of 'companies' to help decide the story of the game, and it gets complicated real fast.

One more reason to love the custom level editor. If you need any help with the custom planets let me know, I got a working model of earth going with a pop of 8.9 Bil (I haven't checked if we can upload planets to the workshop, worth a shot though).
I think Mars should have a much lower pop due to the lack of necessity to colonize it (700 Mil seems a bit excessive for a place less habitable than Antarctica). I also see no reason why we can't simulate aerostat colonies in the Venusian atmosphere. It has 0.9G and 100 KPA at a height of 50 KM in the atmosphere and an oxygen/nitrogen mix is lighter then carbon dioxide and could be used to float colonies. The gravity similarities alone would be enough reason to jump on it.

ghgh You know, pretty much everywhere in Solsys is less habitable than Antarctica, with the sole exception being the Venus skies, but most people don't have balls to brave the fierce winds and the thought that you're literally flying in the sky hanging down from a balloon that might pop if you're not being careful. In addition, Mars is very famous, while Venus is infamous. You can expect that.

Some aggressive Public Advertisement would work like "On the cloud" or "Venusian Glory" kinda catchphrases
In any case population distribution would go exponential: Just as how much of mass is concentrated on Sun...

Since humanity is not in peril, lots of rather expensive projects can be done. Mars in Prosperous universe might have thicker atmosphere of imported CO2 plus maybe some water clouds. Venus could contain a bunch of GM microbes designed to convert sulfuric acid into water plus sulfur dioxide. The ones floating in free Venus atmosphere would be microbes that found their way out of the habs that use them. I think this might make things more interesting.
