What's the range on their guns? And their armor might be good enough to take a sandblaster barrage, although I must confess that my own armor testing against stock gunships has been a complete failure up to this point. It's the 286 mm coil guns. They shoot 10 kg projectiles that go right through 1 m of van-chrome steel, and are 8129% efficient. Their 8mm 15g railguns have better range over the coils. And they can hit a 1000 m 2 target out to 45.7 Km, caiaphas

Actually, I double-checked the tracers and ranges, and it looks as though it's the railguns that firing first; I'm usually dead before the coilguns open fire.

While you're not wrong, the dispersion on guns past their recommended range is bad. They got a buff last patch but it's still pretty bad.

While you're not wrong, the dispersion on guns past their recommended range is bad. They got a buff last patch but it's still pretty bad. my 20mm PD cannons look like slow phaser beams from star trek and could easily start to kill missiles at 5k compared to there 1m^2 range of 2.3k, also one hit is better then 0 hits

So the current alpha doesn't have any laser drones. So I figured I'd remedy the gap. Here is the Predator drone, and it's carrier the Tholian Web. They are absolutely devastating when paired in combat with the Lancer Drone.
Current alpha means current stock game right? Isn't beam drone a laser drone?

That's not precisely my point, which is on me for being all coy and whatever. What I mean is that once you get above around a kilo moving 10 km/s any extra mass tends to be a little overkill, and the added range you get with smaller, lighter projectiles tends to mitigate the difference in momentum anyways. If I were you I'd back down the mass to around ten kilos or so and reoptimize, and see if you get a corresponding increase in performance.

I dont't yet know what's considered interesting or impressive but I really like this design. The drone weighs only 50 kilos and you can even get it down to 40 or 30 if necessary. The specifics of the launcher are also pretty easily customizable. It's not as strong as player made guns because it's simply a ~ 30-40 km weapon but if the engine could handle it you could deploy around 2000 drones in just over a minute with 300-400 dV each...

Jesus, use boron for most radiators, or magnesium/lithium for lower temperature ones. Also, RTGs are massively inefficient for all but the lowest power needs (about 10 watts or less, can't even set the fuel mass low enough with po-210 to get that little). Switch to a small reactor instead.

Thanks gor the tips though. I dont know the go to materials yet because I felt like looking here is cheating... and in this case it did indeed work to my satisfaction, even though it apparently has bad radiators.
