That turnabout time (27.4 s) might pose some problems for the radiators though. Mhm... Unless I'm miscalculating, the ends will be turning at almost 1.4 km/s. Not sure about torque since I don't know precisely how much the radiators mass, but jeez. Although, I suppose a laserstar firing at 10Mm+ ranges probably doesn't need to manoeuvre much. And the only reason it doesn't fire from further is because the game doesn't allow laser beams to fly further. I tested it. Lasers can aim and fire if the target is further away than 10 Mm, but will only connect if the target is closer than 10 Mm. Test was done with 40 lasers, and the target was hit as soon as it crossed the 10 Mm threshold, so laser wobble isn't to blame. This is strictly a limitation of the current game.

You'd want seriously strong radiators just for this purpose

I have 600 meter radiators designed for smallest footprint on the hull

the Catapult Class Super Dreadnought, armed with FOUR 40,000 ton HV cannons (250 kmps), four 600Mw lasers, 24 40 kmps PDC cannons, 6 15g railguns (11kmps), and like ~20 3.3Mw railguns the cost is like 30 gigacredits.

Now introducing the Space BMP-3, with no proprietary fuel, mildly dangerous guns, and robust armor that may even protect you from micrometeorites, all for only 354,000 more credits!

your APCs guns will bounce off my superdreadnoughts armour and my PD railguns will pass though your apc to hit the far more dangourus missile behind it

Its guns don't even work properly due to the shitty AI! Also, what's the tonnage on that thing?

I'm pretty sure the hull of that ship wouldn't be able to accommodate the recoil without cracking its keel. Too bad CoaDE doesn't currently take that into account. OTOH, that's a seriously big gun, and fun to see.

Here's an under-construction Gunship I made a while ago. It's meant to be a prop for custom scenarios, maybe alongside a shipyard station to show a bit of infrastructure. It uses core modules only. You should hide an internally mounted gun in it somewhere, and then use lots of Return of the Jedi references in whatever custom scenario you make. "Now witness the firepower of this fully ARMED and OPERATIONAL battle station gunship!

"Now witness the firepower of this fully ARMED and OPERATIONAL battle station gunship! Heh! It would need some of those methane resistojets to aim the damn thing though. On that note, has anyone explored the concept of a space fort or even replicating the Death Star? I guess it's a bit moot with the fact NEFPs can penetrate 100m of osmium (which may not be accurate but let's roll with it), but something like it or a 'low orbit defence ship' might... do something. I dunno. Assembling ad-hoc bases out of hulks might be handy, like some KSP players whom cobble together used upper stages into a fuel dump.

The best way to make a space fort is probably by putting it inside of an asteroid, lots of armor there with the only cost being the fuel needed to redirect it. It still might not handle NEFPs well though. btw is that Misaki in your profile picture? Nice taste.
