Awesome. You guys are amazing. I've been testing armor models on and off but I haven't been a good scientist...I didn't record any of my findings.

I have been working on something that Prancer might enjoy. Well, working on it on and off: A technical overview of a few ships and components of my own silly nation's fleet. I have only added a fraction of the ships, weapons, and engines but each one I add comes with details. docs.google.com/document/d/1TAMfGeLjxvHe5eYFRwtiMjZ4E-kyMLmILSrxwtxn_GU/edit?usp=sharingI made the intro up in a minute so it doesn't carry much weight, ha. This was also made for some friends that didn't know what this game is but liked to talk about spaceships. No mods were used outside of the paint mod (file edit). I did use and tweak module designs found on this forum, though. Edit: I'd like to hear what types of ships I should do next! I have a ship for most roles.

Awesome! Thank you for this. I was just defaulting to silver (I really like that kind of green.)

I was wondering as I can't really test well via sandbox...is boron better than boron carbide? In regards to hyper velocity rounds at least.
Edit because I forgot: Some of my line warships use citadel armor, along the midsection where the AI fires at when not targeting modules. Usually ~5cm in thickness, over 5cm or so thick base armor. Under silica aerogel anti-laser armor.

I think we need bigger and/or more powerful nuclear thrusters. I have not made any progress in that field, concentrating on deadly and efficient drones.

Those must have been pretty high delta-V drones, haha!
I beat the mission Force Projection by...not matching orbits. Instead I would launch drones and have them intercept the enemy. Every orbit, since my fleet was traveling in the opposite direction.
After depleting my drones, I sent my capital ships on intercept...to do a fly by with guns as the laser frigate was more or less disabled. Well...I lined the intercept up a little to well. My support carrier collided with the enemy at nearly 4 km/s. Both husks of the ships, now in multiple pieces, rapidly flew off at insane speeds. I don't think the game knew what to do in that situation...
Anyways! Got bronze!

Ah, that did the trick! Excellent!

I, too, am having crashes with my own created drone designs. All the drones in question had thermoelectric fission reactor modules. IE:The ones shown in the UNLIMITED POWER thread. I do believe this is the problem. They work fine (and no crashes) with radioisotope thermoelectric generators, of course.

Oh...thermocoupler exit temperature. Wow!Tiny reactor is tiny. And yes, super duper extreme rotational forces there.

But...what...How did you get those radiators to get so hot... and/or dissipate 2.67 GW of waste heat tuna?
