Hey all,
I've had CDE for a while now and have roughly 80 hours on the game itself. I'm pretty terrible at the game, but one thing I noticed is that actual chemical guns are pretty killer if you can get in range - insane RoF, larger shell sizes, and way less required energy input. I'm interested in using some sort of chemical gun as an anti-missile CIWS system, but I'm not sure how to get better. What's the best CIWS-type cannon you can make in CDE (IE, firing at least twice a second, mountable on a turret, low energy requirement)?

Yeah I agree about the looking horrible part; the cylindrical, monolithic nature of the ships was always my favorite part. Besides, concave armor increases the likelihood of penetration at angles to the vertical, and would be harder from a construction standpoint too. I really wish the option would stay but that the stock ships would go back. Agreed. I mean, the COADE app icon still has the convex-hull laser frigate (I think, or gunship), plus convex doesn't have shot traps, and convex hulls don't look as...phallic. I, too, want the stock ships to go back to simple convex but for the option to stay. I've actually done that with a bunch of the stock ships myself.

Sorry for necro, but I wanted to point out that the likely reason that we never have missions beyond 10 ships is that it's laggy as hell. I've got a dedicated gaming computer and the game lags when I do a 3v3 with corvette-sized vessels. I can't imagine what larger-scale battles would be like.

crappy cross-section of the stock laser frigate (without concave hull, because then it looks horrible, and with new railguns) I did in order to help educate my friends. I did it in like an hour.

Hey, new here but played COADE for a little while. I'm not a massive science guy - more of a history/economics major. I was wondering about what the various planets of COADE would contribute, resource-wise. As in, what would each planet specialize in/import/export? For instance, would Mercury or Venus be good for industry due to various solar farms? Would the various Gas Giants be massive petrochemical farms? What about Titan with it's petro lakes?
If someone could do a planet-by-planet thing on what they'd "specialize" in, that'd be really cool.
