After a redesign to downsize the cross section and give the ship all aspect armor I ended up with yet another doom pencil. The armor scheme somewhat copies the Gunship of yore and is very resistant to the 11mm railguns and 33mm canons as long as the angle of impact is less than 30 degrees relies on Borosilicate glass, which I assume has a low enough boron content to not be affected by war shortages. It does quite well with the first two challenges, typically two surviving ships with delta V, but utterly fails at the third. Design file attached as a .txt because I can't get spoilers to work. Oook, I'm finally done, it really has been fun . My LAC turned out to be an overpriced stubby looking ship, but it gets the job done quite well. Drones die in less than a minute from the main laser and the escort carrier doesn't stand a chance against the needle guns. The laser made me sweat a bit, it's been quite some time that I had to make a sub 1MW laser, at the end it turned out to be reasonably effective with 4.5% efficiency - mine usually never get that high. With the railgun I managed to get the respectable 16.7km/s with a serious decrease of the bore radius - less power means less stress on the payload so you can "squeeze" it more. Here is a bit of a teaser. Will post details tomorrow. Armor is Rubber/Lithium/S-Glass/Empty Space/Lithium/S-Glass Modified tier 3 evaluation. More than 3 LAC is allowed at a -4 point penalty. Surviving ships still get points so it is only -1 if no casualties. As in 3+9=12 ships can score a maximum of 1/10. Negative scores can still be considered a mission success if all enemy capital ships are destroyed.

Having seven 'tuned' 100% railguns running off 1 power quantity is still a 700% efficient system. Just saying. The game doesn't know that it is supposed to be limited to charging/powering one rail only.

Only two of those should be able to fire in any arc, so it only uses 600kW at most.
EDIT: Seems like 3 can at some angles - this is easy to revise if its an issue, just remove 2 guns to bring it to 4. Theyre backup weapons anyway, and only necessary for the 3rd challenge incase the laser gets shot off (happens to 1 or 2 ships every other run it seems).

To small of a traverse angle and the moment wheels are to small to turn fast enough, but a larger able means their bigger and heavier. High 70s to low 80s always seem to have a good speed as well as angle.
