I believe I have done it. I have created a weapon capable of trumping all other weapons. I call it the Needler: Attachment DeletedWhenever it focuses on one spot the results are devastating. Being able to punch through entire meters of any armor I have put it against. I have pit it against only one of my ships, being the most op ship I have designed yet and it still tore it apart. Approximately 30 cm wide and 4-5 m long. Armed with a meager 9mm ballistic cannon. This thing is cheap and capable of killing anything in the game. You can easily fit thousand of them on smaller ships. I might have to copy another players design and see if the drones will make quick prey of it

I use to have allot of that kind of drone, pairing them with missile/flare missile carrier for maximum effectiveness. I decided to go for bigger drone, not because its more effective but because its less CPU intensive. 1x50mm gun firing 10g round is less CPU intensive than 10x10mm gun shooting 1g rounds...

You ought to put it up against some player made ships. Lots of ultra cheap designs could easily beat all of stock ships, but few could beat player ships consistently(except micro missiles, but they tend to crash my game when used in numbers needed to penetrate laser point defense)
Projectile cannons are particularly vulnerable to lasers, because their ammo cook off easily when the gun is overheated.

They are extremely vulnerable to lasers due to the cannon being mounted on the nose. However, in such large numbers it is difficult for the lasers to take them all out before they get enough shots off to put a few holes in it. And I should test it against other players ships. That would be the ultimate test.

Wow, that is a pretty impressive page. My drones are 3.72 m long 24.8 cm diameter 60.1 kg mass 2.31 kc

My drones are 3.72 m long 24.8 cm diameter 60.1 kg mass 2.31 kc Not bad, but with silica aerogel they won't last very long. Not as much of a problem when you send wave of 100, but then the real cost is 231kc... A few nuke on intercept will be serious treat to such large wave, by multiple destruction or by bleeding out ammo and fuel. I noted that your drone have a very low Dv count. That's a problem, most of my platform have 7 to 10 km/s. You won't be able to catch them at all. For 231kc, I have few platform that would be quite competitive against that setup.

Nukes are one thing I haven't really considered for my drones, suppose I need an anti nuke escort.

Lightest semi-practical manned craft I have put this on is ~600t and falls over if sneezed on, but that isn't too important for testing. There is a thread devoted to figuring out what can counter long-range mega lasers like this one.
