I was experimenting with making small drones that could easily be shot from cannons and whatnot when I noticed that I was using 500g of fluorine and 500g of methane. Even though the engine shows a mixture ratio of 9.47 fluorine : 1 methane (by mass) So I made another variant, where the reaction mass was corrected from 500g fluorine:500g methane to 947g fluorine:100g methane. The Delta-v changed from 0.801km/s to 0.835km/s (due to the 47 grams of additional reaction mass) and the burn time increased by two seconds. The dry acceleration didn't change at all. Shouldn't the fluorine run out before the methane and cause a shorter burn?
EDIT: It does actually cause a shorter burn, the 1:1 drones have several hundred m/s of dV left and they suddenly disable themselves due to running out of dV, while the 9.47:1 ones work until the meter hits 0m/s. The exported designs are attached below. Brass Ball V22 has 500g:500g Brass Ball V23 has 947g:100g

the exhasust velocity is the same right? Dv is not how much propellant you have but the ratio of propellant to not propellant. two ships with a mass ratio of 4 and 6km/s exhasut velocity have the same Dv one masses 10kt the other, 10Mt.

The exhaust velocity is not only the same, but it's literally the same engine being used. The only difference between the two designs is that the other one has 500g of Fluorine, 500g of Metane. And the other one has 947g of Fluorine, 100g of Methane. The engine needs 9.47:1 fluorine:methane (by mass), and the burn time is incorrect because on the 500g:500g version, it stops working after the fluorine is expended (which is about 0.4km/s of the 0.8km/s dV)

Dv is based on a ratio of propellant to not propellant and exhaust velocity. NOT how much propellant you have.

I guess it's a bug. The 500g and 500g should leave most part of propellant uncombusted and wasted.

In the previous version, I had a design with LOx-decane who would still display much of its dV even when I removed the oxygen entirely. Didn't open that old design up yet in 1.10 though.
