Random Idea in terms of Forum management argonbalt. Can we get a redirect to this thread pinned into the Materials Suggestion subgroup. I keep thinking this is there, not here.

Can you merge all of those Modded Materials into a single file and post on workshop?

Can you merge all of those Modded Materials into a single file and post on workshop? Yes, please. My game still has the same bug where it always declares "null" everything, regardless of the formatting I do on the text file.

Rocket WitchIf you are lazy to merge all of those materials, I can do it and upload it for you. As long as having your permission.

I would offer normal and far-future stuff (things like graphene and fusion) as separate downloads, but you can do whatever you deem best. Random Idea in terms of Forum management argonbalt. Can we get a redirect to this thread pinned into the Materials Suggestion subgroup. I keep thinking this is there, not here. Given the slowly increasing number of stickies that may be best. Maybe my reactive material combos thread should be moved there too (it's in science & tech right now).

You have two "Benzene" in Spectra part, and Polystyrene has no "SPECTRA Polystyrene" before "n". Also, you should really have a check of those spectra...They are unusable, for some reason.

oops, I think I get it now, the game doesn't support import spectrum from "import" folder. I might just use stock spectrum.

You have two "Benzene" in Spectra part, and Polystyrene has no "SPECTRA Polystyrene" before "n". The second benzene spectra is for zinc selenide; the data in the code is correct. I copied benzene for a template then replaced the data, but evidently missed the title. A number of materials rely on their indices for their function, like rhodium as a laser mirror, so ideally we'll need qswitched to add support for this (or come and tell us it's already supported). I was going to update the compendium at the end of the month but with this happening I'll do it tomorrow; standby.

Also, why you change your steam username to some Chinese? Just curious.

One last thing, do you have some suggestion for those materials that require its own spectra? Since we can't import spectra, we have to use stock spectra, but which?

The data is not correct, you have TAB instead of SPACE for some spectra. There should be a space between the word SPECTRA and the name of the index, and a tab separating the wavelength and refraction value on each other line. I don't see any further errors in the lists and they all work in my game if I go in and look at the materials.

No, if you look carefully the stock RefractionIndices.txt, you will find there is no TAB at any place. SPACE only.

Compendium updated! No, if you look carefully the stock RefractionIndices.txt, you will find there is no TAB at any place. SPACE only. Oh, I never noticed! Or I forgot... someusername6 was the first person to post a modded index, using tabs, and I've modelled mine after that. They still seem to load fine. Have you tried uploading one with spaces instead to the workshop? Maybe that's needed for them to be imported. If it is I'll change them all. One last thing, do you have some suggestion for those materials that require its own spectra? Since we can't import spectra, we have to use stock spectra, but which? Certainly. This list follows the format of [material to change] > [spectra to use] Any liquids don't need an index so you can skip anything using benzene's entirely, but the suggested change would be to methane. Omit the pink Z93 paint material entirely as its existence depends on gold aluminium's refraction. Chromium > Molybdenum Chromium Stainless Steel > Iron Gold Aluminum > Aluminum Rhodium > Platinum Black Silicon > Silicon Ice > Water Pykrete > Water Biaxially Oriented PET (uncoated only) > Polyethylene Balsa Wood > not sure, maybe graphite just for a wood-like colour. Cork > not sure, maybe graphite just for a wood-like colour. Expanded Polystyrene > Polyethylene 50% Glass Reinforced PET > Polyethylene Polycarbonate > Polyethylene Zinc Selenide > Selenium Graphene > Graphite Vertically Aligned CNTs > Carbon Nanotube Forest

I haven't uploaded it to the workshop yet, I am still checking for any bug...
