I've been wondering the same thing. Can you make a super-compact ship? I am always limited ingame by the minimum crew required to run the ship (~30), the mass it takes to keep them comfortable, and the mass needed for everything else on top of that. I have a few ~500t designs, but much lower and the thing is basically a civilian passenger craft. Haven't seen a practical lower limit on drones ingame. Probably based on whatever is the smallest realistic threat to a capital ship or drone. Using more than 200 isn't practical ingame at the moment (brings my computer to a crawl), so there isn't much advantage of going under 50kg (200 of which would be a 100t mass). Some analogies to stimulate thought: What is the smallest blue water navy ship, by crew size? What is the smallest continuously manned space crew look like? How dependent are they on Earth communications, ready-made supplies, and sleeping on the same schedule? Which officer positions are redundant across a fleet or cross-trainable?
