I was designing a lightweight gun for drones when I noticed the aluminium that's taking over 75% of my gun's mass! In fact, they are everywhere. Virtually all of my custom stuffs use no aluminium, but aluminium appears in most, if not all of them. Where did it came from? Note that as of now, tracers have no mass.

The Loader is made out of aluminium, increasing it's power consumption increases the amount of aluminium. Here's my lightweight railgun for comparison

I presume the wattage of the loader influences volume? Would it be possible to replace aluminum with a lighter, stronger material?

Somewhere in the code there's a line called DefaultMetal or something and it's defaulted to alluminium. I guess you could change it to Graphite Aerogel if you feel like being cheeky.

It might be interesting to look up the density of electronics. But then we'll have to separate 'real' elektronics (like the remote control) and various other electrical systems (linear accelerators from projectile weapons, electrical motors for pumps and reaction wheels, ...).

Aluminium is the placeholder material for everything thats placeholded like food or water or electronics or loaders
