I know many people love that gunship, but here, I want to ask about your favorite stock ship. It doesn't have to be a warship, and modified version is allowed, but keep it separated from your favorite stock ship. You can do all of them, or just one or few you like the most.
Mine Favorite stock ship (warship): Corvette (small, packed with physics-defying coilgun that I'm trying to fix later) Favorite stock ship (civilian ship): Large Methane Tanker (Favorite fuel) Favorite stock ship (drone): Stinger Drone (Good delta-v) Favorite stock ship (missile): Staged Striker Nuclear Missile (STAGED) Favorite stock ship (station): Research Station (Cool-looking)
Favorite modified stock ship: Gunship (AKA my first stock mod project that turns out to work damn well.)

Probably the Raider, just because a ship with heavy frontal armament and ludicrous armor is fun. The stock model has a couple crippling problems, though: The fixed forward guns rarely get to fire, and when the radiators get hit by large caliber shells the ship gets cut in half, presumably from some sort of blast effect. My modified version: i.imgur.com/foH9ngo.jpgAt the time I hadn't touched module design yet so this is all stock parts. I replaced the frontal railguns with the turreted 286 mm coilgun (which happens to consume the same amount of power), and extended the outer 1 cm armor layer to cover the rest of the ship and replaced the radiators with lower profile ones so that it won't get cut in half anymore. Otherwise it's the same ship underneath. It performs pretty well in the stock landscape; 1v1 against a gunship is a tossup, two will consistently kill it. Plus it's still about a fourth of the price.

The Cutter! Needle ships with form-fitting radiators look great, especially with the silvery coating which it seems to get away with since it lasts longer than any other stock ship under a nuke blasting.
Edit: There's a ship I keep forgetting about — the Phalanx. The little Shooting Stars it deploys are so cute, but not so effective. I tried to use it to defend myself when trying to beat Vesta Overkill. Made me think "wouldn't it be great if they had forward engines so they could go out ahead and shoot the drones before they can shoot the capitals... and if there were more of them; they need to be smaller" and so I started down the path of developing expendable microdrones.

I think my favorite stock ship going into the game was the Solar Lance, because I thought it's laser was pretty neat, but practically the ship itself is bad. So the Siloship has a special place in my heart, it was probably the one reason I finally beat Overkill. Nuking all her drones and missiles into non-existence proved nuclear warheads as great point defence, and having an abundance helps greatly. My best modified stock ship happens to be a fleet. A while back I set out to improve all of the more relevant and practical stock ships, so Fleet Carrier, Gunship, Corvette, Siloship, Patrol Ship, Cutter, Solar Lance cough I still think it's cool cough. All of them have all the modules improved rather than replaced by something better. Railguns are more accurate, the 60mm cannons been reworked, Methane NTR's are better and more diamond, and the Coilguns have better range. It's really hard to pick one, so I'm proud of my little fleet.
I really gotta get working on designs from scratch though. Liquid Crystal Polymer Fiber if you're wondering.

For favorite stock ship would probably have to be the gunship; she's my standard rule-of-thumb test for whatever weapons system I've developing just because of how tough the little things are and how well-armed they are (in comparison to the other stock ships).
Favorite civvie ship is the Belt Trawler, mostly for how it fits into the background story of the game.
Favorite stock drone is probably going to be the beam drone because of how nice it is to have a squadron of them on defense.
Favorite missile is going to be the nuclear gyrojet for how cool it looks.
Favorite stock station is the Laser Station.
My favorite modified stock ship is going to have to be a modified version of the Solar Lance. I basically stripped it of any weapons aside from the stock laser, slapped a few stock reactors in there to power it, and subsequently used to to carve up the gunship on Main Belt Extraction.

Speaking of the Shooting Star, my Dactyl is actually one but it's been so heavily modified that it isn't recognizable. The earliest version I have a screenshot of was 380 kg and 3.12 kc, now it's 6.22 kg and 41.6 c.
