When plotting a future course update that results in a 'collision' type intercept, the AI immediately evades this planned but not initiated burn.
This is probably not working as intended.
(i.e. when near the target orbit on a highly elliptical orbit a burn is setup at Periapsis to catch the target on the ascending arm of the orbit. Immediately the enemy fleet (whether it be a drone/cap ship/missile fleet) makes an immediate burn that causes a wide miss for the pre-planned intercept. The player can then cancel or correct the planned burn, all the way up to the periapsis, wasting much of the enemy delta-v, and resulting in a delta-v advantage that is not a result of any technical or skill/planning advantage).
It should not be possible for the enemy to react to a future burn (although it can of course perform burns to spoil planning - but this isn't what is being done (if no burns are set the AI does not perform gross adjustments to the orbit in the same way using the same AI setting & fleet, but does perform these adjustments to spoil future burns as soon as they are set).
If the satellite obscures the LOS to the fleet the defence correction could be delayed until the fleet is in sight as well (or has failed to appear at the expected location from behind the orbited body), rather than always being immediate and omniscient in every circumstance.
Also: why do missiles/drones parked in a "mine" orbit around a satellite occupy themselves with running out their delta-v and becoming useless as missiles/drones when approached by a capital ship fleet, rather than waiting until the intercept is assured and using their delta-v to obtain a lethal/favourable intercept geometry? This seems to be a silly thing for the AI to do when using their strategic firepower even if the capital fleet is showing prudence by avoiding contact. Missiles are intended to be destroyed in combat, and work best if they are used to hit the opponent rather than just expended as delta-v casualties.
