Right now missiles in the game are only destroyed by losing their propulsion or warhead components, but in my(non-engineering-background) opinion this is ignoring a major vulnerability of these unmanned systems? So, IR seekers have to be mounted on the front of the missile and can't be armored with anything that blocks IR, what's keeping IR lasers from just shooting through the nosecone and destroying the missile seeker? Also, suppose missiles have a command datalink that they can use in case they lose their seekers, what's keeping these datalinks from being destroyed by some sort of magnetic pulse weapon? A warship could carry spare antennas to last a while but how many spare 1000km antennas can a missile carry? Non-nuclear EMP, persumably works without a Van-Allen Belt. science.howstuffworks.com/e-bomb3.htm

Much of sensors and ecm is abstracted away currently. More detail is a rather large undertaking but I do intend to get to it some point in the future. The upcoming patch will have some minor sensor changes which will underlie future sensor/ecm overhauls.

I'm very anxious to see the new turret mechanisms as well.
