I have encountered a problem where a missile launcher with an engagement range set will launch missiles without giving them orders. I have a set of micromissile launchers on a drone, programmed to launch at a range of 100 km. If i manually launch the missiles, they behave correctly and attempt to intercept their target. However, if i allow the drone to close to auto-engagement range, the missiles make to attempt to intercept their target. Instead, they are flung outwards from the launching ship at an enormous speed (launcher only fires them at a few centimeters per second) and burn up all their fuel without ever changing their heading. It is as if they are launching with a "scatter" order instead of a "homing" one.

Sometimes, my launched missiles spontaneously explode as they leave the Drone. I noticed this even with my new split/spaced launcher system. This frags my carrier drones quite often.
EDIT: I find if I move my carriers at a moderate pace (100-500m/s) and do not perform any kind of acceleration/deceleration/turning while firing missiles, they won't explode.

found the problem: missiles are spawning at 90-degrees to the orientation of the launcher when launched automagically.

found the problem: missiles are spawning at 90-degrees to the orientation of the launcher when launched automagically. Noticed this as well. For me this happens if missiles are launched with orders, not sure if this is the only situation where the bug can happen.

The launchers are automatically programmed by qswitch to launch that way during acceleration to prevent the missile from crashing into the ship.
Though it would be nice if we can control the launcher angle of the payload.
Also for missile or drone exploding upon launcher, try distancing your launcher with spacer to give the missile or drone more space to spawn without crashing each other.
Or you could just use a single launcher to save space and such.
