Hello,
I purchased the game yesterday from Steam and tried to start it, but the "preparing to launch" window pops up for a second, closes, and then the game fails to launch.
I restarted Steam
Updated my drivers
I deleted and re-downloaded the local files
I verified the cache
I tried to disable fullscreen, but the CDE file in the /AppData/Roaming directory does not exist. So, I tried disabling it via the "DefaultPreferences" file, but that didn't work
My laptop is a HP Pavilion g7 Notebook
AMD A8-4500 APU 1.90 GHz
AMD Radeon HD 7640g
Windows 10 64 bit
Not really sure what else to do...

Does it fail to launch the game at all? As in the game never launches even for a second, and it never gets past Steam running? Also, are crash logs appearing at all (they wouldn't if the game never launches at all)?

It fails to launch entirely. Only the gray Steam "preparing to launch" box shows up for a second and then disappears. There are no crash logs that I can find.

So I tried starting the game by clicking on the exe file in the local files, rather than clicking on the shortcut or the "play" button in the Steam window -- this has worked for other games -- and it says it cannot start the game because the "OpenAL32.dll" file is missing.
*Edit* I figured it out by doing the following:
"OpenAL32.dll missing
1. Go to the Steam folder where your installed games are 2. The the game folder should include another folder called _CommonRedist. Double click that.
3. In that folder you find the OpenAL folder double click that as well.
4. In that you find the 2.0.7.0 folder. Go in there.
5. Now you find the oalinst.exe
7. Double click that Data and it automatically installs the missing .dll file that you need.
8. You should be able to play the game now"
