Needle Railguns? Counter missile volleys? Much bigger lasers?
So I built this thing while trying to build an improved version of the Siloship. Primary things I felt needed improving on the ship where: A) One missile alone needed to be able to heavily damage or outright destroy a warship. B) One missile alone needed to have a reasonably high chance of surviving a warships anti missile defenses. and C) A volley of missiles needed to have the delta V to operate from outside the gravity well the target is in.
What I ended up building is now really good at killing my own ships. So what's the most cost effective way of defending capital ships from armored, high yield missiles?

Meanwhile, I'm struggling to make my missiles kill even the weakest laserstar I have

Yep, screening the capital ships with a few of these fixed it. The answer always seems to be more lasers. Not even bigger lasers, just more.

I would say, intercept them well away from the capital ship with micro railgun drones, but then that's my answer to everything these days...
