I'm no electrician, but it seems strange to me that one crew module and ten un-stacked crew modules require the same amount of power in the ship designer... isn't it? You must only be able to support the one crew module or crew module stack with the greatest power requirement and no others, which appears to be a bug. Ships should require power for all crew modules!

The designer only shows the electricity and cooling demands of a single unit of a group of the same units, unless you click the "show total power" button or the "show total heat" button near the heat and power bar at the left side. If you satisfy the energy or cooling demands of only one module, only one module will be operational.

Don't worry, staggering life support for each crew module for 10 seconds each is totally fine!
That's why all the doctors and engineers sit in one capsule, and the rest of the crew sit in the other.

If that's really the case I guess it was overlooked because typically CM's power requirements are a tiny fraction of power needed by all the other systems.

Would be funny to see a little red box pop up at the bottom of the screen "CREW COMPARTMENT 1 HAS DIED FROM LACK OF POWER." Same with having your radiators shot off "CREW COMPARTMENT 5 HAS COOKED."
