I'm currently stuck on this scenario as CDE hard crashes whenever I set up an intercept that, I'm pretty sure, *would* have been a successful one. If I attempt an intercept or fly-by when I don't have enough delta-v and/or time it works as intended (I can't do the intercept), but I think when the intercept would work it is instead causing CDE to completely lock up my computer; I can neither close the game nor alt-tab out of it, and sometimes I even have to reboot my PC (running Windows 10 64-bit if that helps). Unfortunately this crash is not leaving any crash log, so I can't post that. It also doesn't matter what my frame of reference is, if I've got one or more than one ship in my fleet, if I'm using missiles instead, etc. - anything that *should* intercept instead seems to break the game...hard. Since I don't know how to intercept something without using the Intercept command, I don't know if this is a known issue (perhaps because the methane depot is so close to Neptune?) or if I'm expected to handle the situation differently..?

Um, okay...so I managed to pass this scenario, but did so in a way that should probably be considered a bug in its own right. Here's the repro steps (...if you can manage them) -
1) Began scenario with standard ship compliment (Privateer plus Hydrogen Tanker) 2) Maneuvered around until I was zooming in on Neptune at a rough intercept angle with the hydrogen station 3) After maneuver-transfer fuel-maneuver a few times, booted the tanker out of my fleet to go whereveritistankersgowhentheyarenolongerusefultotheGreaterGood 4) Privateer now on its own and barreling down on the depot, tweaked intercept until (this time) I got a "hard intercept" (icon of a red diamond with the intercept symbol in it; not sure if there's another name for this or not) 5) Set my ship to take the hard intercept, which set up a maneuver node as expected 6) As I approached the depot, started dropping Sniper nukes in groups of 5, setting them up to intercept the target. Some gave me "maneuver ends in collision" messages while others didn't, but whatever, I had extras. 7) Finally meet up with the depot...but with my "fleet" of Privateer and 5 nukes that I had launched in prep without separating from the fleet. Proceed to fly past the depot at 2.5km a second, missing it without any chance of the nukes hitting. 8) Hit "Back" button and exit to system screen. I now have something like 20 "fleets" consisting of 1 Sniper nuke each, plus a couple containing 5, and my "real" fleet of ship plus 5 Sniper's. 9) move turn ahead by 1 minute. My fleet containing my ship crashes into Neptune. GREAT, GAME OVER, RIGHT? 9a) Nope! Game is NOT over. My ship is gone, but I've got two dozen individual nukes floating near the enemy depot. So, one-by-one, I set them up to intercept. 9b) Most of the nukes say they will crash before intercept. Maybe one says it won't, but whatever; I can't imagine I can beat the scenario without any ships, anyway. But whatever: I set a dozen or so nukes to target before getting bored and Seeing What Will Happen. 10) Let the turn move 1 minute ahead again. A couple nukes burn up in the atmosphere. 11) Move the turn ahead another minute. Combat pops up with a single Sniper nuke versus the depot. 12) Select the crew cabin of the depot. (And by that I mean, "check that it's still selected as target from my previously failed attempt at hitting it with my now-dead ship-and-crew.) Un-pause the battle and let'er roll! 12) Nuke detonates something like 25 meters from the crew compartment. A glorious thing to behold. Wipe a small tear from the corner of my eye. 13) I'm greeted with a "You Win!" (or whatever it said; I was crying with happiness, I already told you that!!!1!!11) window. Can this be? Did I actually win? But I died!? My crew, screaming in terror as the Neptunian atmosphere creaked-and-groaned our spider-silk-clad ship down into a smashed-up sphere of molten metal (or tried to; I'm sure we detonated before long), should have ended the scenario/mission, right? I'm sure they did. Let's "Back" out of the battle and face our doom. 14) Click "Back", wait for a few seconds that I assume is the game crashing on me, only then to be greeted with an End Scenario screen, complete with Silver Badge as I completed the mission in a little under the baseline timeframe. Yaaay!
You can dig out the bug report from somewhere in the above step-by-step story of me nuking some poor "Methane Techs" in their completely undefended, "Long Live the UTSA!" methane depot. Yeah, that's right. Burn in Sol, you bastards.

Yep currently as it stands as long as there is something that is theoretically controllable you are not dead! This includes missiles launched by vesta with nearly no delta v in holding orbits. Or drones or any missile what so ever. They are clearly manned by strong ai with no need for any sort of human control in order to take the fight to the enemy!

Huh. I guess the IR takes the completion of their mercenary work very, very seriously.

Huh. I guess the IR takes the completion of their mercenary work very, very seriously. Yep. They've lost their land at least two times now, eh?
