Upon startup the app goes to a black screen. The mouse works and sound plays but I cannot exit or escape unless by force. I tried to access the folder in Application Support but it does not seem to exist. Is it a hidden folder? I downloaded this game yesterday... What should do??

Have you tried disabling fullscreen or altering graphical settings?
Preferences are found here on a Mac: .../[Username]/Library/Application Support/CDE/Preferences.txt
If the folder does not exist, go ahead and make it and then place this preferences file in it (this is the default preferences but with fullscreen disabled):

I'd suggest anything involving the graphics settings be set to low, Bloom be set to 0, and turning off VSYNC.

Hi,
I couldn't seem to find the folder "CDE" in the application support folder, does anybody else have this problem or a solution?

Amendment to this:
browsing the games local files yielded a certain .txt called "DefaultPreferences.txt". edited the file with the replacement text above, this has worked.

C:\Users\Username\AppData\Roaming\CDE That's where it should be on Winblows (replace Username accordingly, don't put spaces or spooky characters in that). Did you edited any of these folders permissions-wise earlier to some non-standard values via chmod/chown or other means? Can you try creating new user profile and launching from there? Would touch whatsneeded.txt work? Can you try to "launch as administrator" / su - / sudo ?
Edited to add: I do have unmodified CoaDE\Resources\Data\DefaultPreferences.txt but I see no path-related stuff in it, only what was pasted above ^ Disclaimer: "my" version 1.2.1 has SmartSteamEmu.ini without any paths in it (you see where I'm at, sad as it is) and no Steam trojan installed.
