Has anybody else ever had this happen to them? Do you know of any solutions?
I've had two similar issues occur, and I'm not sure if they're related or not.
Anyway, so I'll be on the map mode, modifying trajectories, when randomly the trajectory will stop responding to the changes I make to the directions. Before that, it slows down in responsiveness significantly. The only way around this is to cancel the trajectory altogether and start again, which makes it far more responsive immediately. It seems like the game is holding on to, or processing a lot of unneeded physics, which is cleared when the trajectory is cancelled.
Another issue I encountered is in a battle between two fleets. Of particular note, the "Vesta Overkill" level, which I can't pass because of this issue. When our 2 fleets do eventually engage, the enemy fleet fires all of their rail guns at my ships. I believe the number of shots in simulation might be too much for the game to handle. However, as a result, the physics simulation stutters and lags out, dramatically reducing framerate and making the simulation chaotic and inaccurate. My missiles end up missing the enemy ships by almost a Km. The odd thing is that the issue seems to disappear or reduce significantly when/as my ships are destroyed, yet the number of shots and targets in simulation theoretically shouldn't have changed, my disabled ships are still floating in space, and there are still hundreds if not thousands of projectiles moving towards them.
I have a brand new nVidia GTX 1080, so there is no way that this is a graphics issue. But in case it was, I have reduced the graphics across the board, to no effect.
I also have an Intel i7 3.33 GHz processor. Which is well above the minimum system requirements required for the game.
I have noticed that while doing absolutely nothing, such as idling in the main menu or between turns, CDE.exe consumes over 8% CPU (one core). What's going on??
