Good day, everybody.
I am creating this thread because I, too, have stumbled across the "2008-erase GPUs not working" issue.
After doing some research, it seems that everyone who has stumbled across this issue has a Tesla-based NVIDIA graphics card.
Evidence:
paleblackdot reports:
subyng also reports:
As well as myself:
What all of these have in common is
I have also tried forcing the game to use my (totally garbage) integrated graphics, but the NVIDIA control panel provides no way to do this (the best I could do was allow it to auto-select, which always resulted in it using the graphics card anyway).
I do not know what it is about Tesla that is causing this issue, but it may be related to the fact that the drivers for this architecture only support up to OpenGL 3.2 and DirectX 10, and have no support whatsoever for Vulkan.
Whatever the issue is, I (and several others, by the looks of things) would be extremely happy to see something done about this. I am in school currently, but I am usually available between 5 and 10 Pacific Time, and would be perfectly willing to help in any way I can.

Each button click takes me 3-5 minutes of loading time to move on (if it let's me move on at all). So far, I've been unable to get past the first menu after clicking on the campaign button before it seems like it stops entirely
My system specs are:
Windows 7 Home Premium, SP1
Intel Core I7 CPU, 2.67 GHz
9.00 GB RAM
64 bit OS
Nvidia GeForce GTX 260

Update: turns out the game is running REALLY REALLY slowly, but it does respond. Takes several seconds before anything happens when I click a button. I managed to get into a mission, and again, everything is unresponsive; the framerate is effectively less than 1.

The game seems to have an extreme amount of lag at all of the menus. I haven't even managed to get into the game itself yet because clicking on any of the buttons results in a 2-3 minute wait. I have managed to get into the Options menu, and I have turned all of the settings down as far as I can. The C/GPU aren't doing much, and it isn't accessing anything from the hard drive.
My specs:

What all of these have in common is
- Abysmal performance to the point where menu items take minutes to respond
- Changing the settings in either the game or the preference file has no effect on performance
- The GPUs in question are all based on the Tesla architecture
