I got bored and decided to make something fun. Introducing, Jouster!  It's a heavy armored drone with decent amount of speed for it to dodge and weave through hail of gunfire. And if those bullets ever hit, the armor just bounced right off it. I guess it would be an incredibly powerful vessel if there's no laser to zap it out of the space. But it also has some incredibly accuracy when ramming enemy vessel and actually somehow survived relatively intact. Nevertheless, it's just a sudden brain though on how to make an close combat armored drone. |

Possible link to drone and munitions post? drones were posted earlier in the thread but I will repost them, the length is 1.89km. the combat drone (5700~ carried)  and the fuel drone, which has had a 0.5mm layer of graphogel added as well as rearangement of the thingy-meh-bobs on the side  |

You can probably improve and simplify your drone fleets by using RP-1 NTRs over Fluorine Hydrogen Combustion rockets.

That is much too large a ship, but as long as it stays out of the battle, it should be fine with that ridiculous drone spam capability. Of course, I imagine it would be extremely difficult to build, but eh.

I see a ship like that being a strategic asset for smallish sized polity that isn't swollowed up by a greater power. A mobile base like that (because that thing is a mobile base) would be used to maintain control of a sphere of space. Maybe it's kept in formation with a number of mobile habitats. I have a city ship that can hold 400,000 people alone. It costs in the gigacredits of course, but a hollowed out iron asteroid 3km long is worth a lot of credits of ore I would think. A polity based around a group of such rocks may be able to afford a Star Destroyer as an escort. ;p

I dunno why but fuel drone just seems adorable to me due to how they are just a fat harmless blob of liquid tank with rocket strapped to it.
