See title. I start the game, I can't click anything on the main menu. There is no response from any of the buttons.

Update: turns out the game is running REALLY REALLY slowly, but it does respond. Takes several seconds before anything happens when I click a button. I managed to get into a mission, and again, everything is unresponsive; the framerate is effectively less than 1.
Windows 7 64-bit i5-4690 3.50Ghz 8 GB Ram
Please help!

I couldn't click anything on my first launch. I force quit it and it launched fine the second time. No problems since.

Force quit and relaunch does not work. Neither does restart and relaunch or uninstall/redownload and relaunch. I (we?) made sure all my (our?) drivers are up to date, and there was no improvement in playability. This coming Friday will be 2 weeks since I bought the game on Steam.

The cards are old (~2008) but still should be above the minimum spec, according to benchmarks.
A few things to try: Disabling fullscreen, disabling graphics settings to their minimum, reducing the screen scaling, all in the options.

Well, now I've gone and done it.
I tried changing the screen scaling, and now the options menu is so magnified it runs off the page. This makes the rest of the graphics options unavailable, and because my initial performance issues won't let me scroll or click/drag, they remain inaccessible.
Is there a way to change the user preferences outside the game in a text file? I was able to find the DefaultPreferences.txt file, but no "CurrentPreferences.txt" or similar. I need to get the screen scaling back to something reasonable now before I can get back to addressing the performance problems.

Ok, got the preferences working again!
The performance problems still prevent me from scrolling down the in-game menu, but I edited the text file to set FullScreen = false, and all textures to Low.
Unfortunately, the problem in the game persists even with these lower settings.
Since I found the Preferences.txt file, I also found the error logs. Here is the transcript from the most recent
