Yes , might try , but for the moment I like the new dual set too much. Strips radiators and punches trough hulls at the same time.

I'm not that worried about TWR , for the moment most of the problems are lack of delta V and armor and the ballance of both. Dual warheads are a resounding success . Edit.: nah , nothing a few cm of aerogel won't fix.

At the moment , it seems that the warhead is the key, hard to make a useful tiny one ... on the other had you have no idea how happy I was when I finally made a 5kg nuke with more than 1 kt

Yey! Since the new update , much smaller missiles became practical , so I'm reluctantly posting my first attempts. Reluctantly since in a few hours they would probably feel quite large . The double tank version: the interesting part of both is this tiny engine , I had smaller attempts but this one was giving me the best performance for the moment. Warheads are currenly WIP. I'm currently testing dual warhead combiantions - heavy shrapnel with low spread and very light fragments with high spread to make them more multifunctional.

Haven't noticed the resistojets . I'm still deep in making the smallest useful missile. Remote control now seems awfully large however

Makes sense . Thanks. When I have time I'll make more tests wiht different distances, materials and thickness of the whipple shield. I saw something about this effect on the blog , just didn't understand the scale of the problem.

It was covered with basalt 1cm at one meter and 2cm of boron , the depleted uranium was 1 meter behind all this this. Initially the test was with UHMWPE, the switch to depleted uranium was just for shits and giggles... the target looked like this : ... you may be right about the conventional explosive blasting away the armor. But still 10 meters is a lot.

Then my new micro drone will be called bunny

From what I remmember the recoil storing you are talking about is that the whole mechanism was moving freely unitll the third bullet leaves the barrel. Sort of fires in series of three and every third round the recoil of all rounds reaches you in one push. Edit: Yep www.youtube.com/watch?v=E_didDgUjn0

concretedonkey, I also love small drones that fire conventional weaponry, too bad the game comes to a crawl when you deploy 100+ of these, I would have loved to see thousands of them deployed and overwhelming an enemy. Yeah also back then I used ethylene oxide to drive them. It restricted their delta V and that was the point of the big drone , I was thinking of using them as leaders/ tankers/carriers. They got a little heavy and pricey. Heavier weponry and a refueling probe for the little guys. I have to try to make a ntr in small enough size for them , it will make the tanker redundant.

I had a similar problem with one of my micro nukes , solved it by bumping up the minimum range up one notch... not sure what it was , not even sure if this solved it but the next design didn't have that problem... btw kinetic micro missiles make more sense - if its going to be cheap , let it be really cheap . I use both, usually in 1 to 5 mix.

What seems to be the problem with micro missiles ? I've seen very impressive designs in the 25 -15 kg range , and I'm quite happy with mine... ?

Might be that your version is older , this became possible with an update. The drone above actually uses exactly aerogel for the turret armor.

At the moment, my houserule set is to use pure fission nuclear, lasers, and conventional ordinance exclusively. I suspect that dodges most of the major "wait what" results. I have a strong suspicion that some of the conventional kinetic missiles are broken too. One of the micro missiles that I have brakes through 10 meters of depleted uranium in 3 to 5 shots.

No problem. This could be useful. A high trust mix for combat and a high ISP mix for transfer...
