I'd much prefer an option to export and import designs in some standard text format, perhaps JSON or YAML. That way we could share designs without going through some 3rd party proprietary service.

The main part of the CoaDE community is on this forum. We are capable of sharing things here already, but making a button for import/export would make this smoother, so I support that.
On the other hand, I'm not particularly looking forward to deeper Steam integration (I probably wouldn't use it). In my opinion, dev time would be much better spent on making the game as accurate as possible. Social networking can be left to other games.

I really look forward to the workshop as we can share our design 100X easier with it! lol no. the steam workshop is a mess, its basic and extremely rigid principles go against the way this game is coded (different items must be separate files for the workshop, while CDE threats them as text and merges them into a file with others), and the last thing we need is auto updating mods/designs. |
