Can we recreate real-world technology within the game? I was thinking, as examples, the Merlin engine and the Bushmaster.

That's much better but Merlin engine won't be possible.
Since well, there's not engine design for fuel powered engine since oxidiser would be required and probably be wasteful.
I have no idea which Bushmaster you are talking about since there's A LOT OF THINGS with the name Bushmaster, but I'm assuming that you are probably talking about guns.
Yes the game can do it, but probably slightly difference in term of weight and such due to various factor.

He probably meant the SpaceX Merlin on the Falcon 9, not the Rolls-Royce Merlin that powered WWII fighter planes. The Merlin uses LOX/RP-1, pretty sure we have that in the fuel list.

I'd venture a guess that for bushmaster he's referring to the M242 25mm cannon on the Bradley.

Yes. I was thinking of using it as a form of test for the game engine: if it's realistic enough, it should be able to reproduce real things.

Yes these sort of things are possible, someone made a SpaceX Merlin a while back and I have designs for a Browning M2HB and Royal Ordnance L7

A while ago I made the Rocketdyne F-1 and J-2S engines based on specs I could find, with other parameters falling wherever they happen to based on those restrictions. In both cases the exhaust velocity was vastly lower than listed (though RP-1 is different now and broke the F-1 I made). F-1 J-2S I also made a gun based on the 3"/50 Mk 22, but it's not a replica so much as a weapon of the same type used as a test of concept. Didn't end up being a useful point defence system since flak always detonates late rather than prematurely against out-of-range targets.

Regarding that 3" gun, you might be able set the flak payload to detonate on a timer rather than fuze it.
