on Dusk over Triton i got:
1M 26D
6.54 km/s
Capitol ships alive 100%
Capitol ships unscathed 100%
Gold
the game says this beats the records, but what are they based on ? dev gameplay ? player gameplay ?

There is a file called devrecords.txt in the data folder of the game. This is where all the values for determining your bronze/silver/gold status come from. Judging by the name, it is indeed based on QSwitch's own stats.

A lot rely on glitched joins at high relative velocity, both reducing the time and fuel cost for an actual rendezvous. (e.g. to get the delta-v record in Lagrange graveyard or small diversion).
Because the final intercept is also flown at significant speed without adequate retardation they also complete much quicker than a full rendezvous would.
Generally, the smaller local system combat missions don't suffer from this at all. (Some of the multi-system with refuelling ones do though if you need to meet the depot though).

Actually, only one mission's 'gold record' is glitched, and that is the 'A Small Diversion' mission. This record will be corrected at some point in the future (as well as the join glitch).
