Hello Everyone!
I believe we need a standard target, something to be used as a common armor benchmark for all our guns and laser. So I am proposing for the space equivalent of NATO_targets.
I created a ship using Stock part. It is a simple ship, heavy enough to stay stable while being fired at. For now, we will start with a three Standard Target. We may upgrade the existing one or add new one in the future. I say "we" because I do not own or claim leadership over this. But I would like to keep the number of variant and upgrade low, otherwise it won't be standard anymore. So to do a upgrade or ad a variant, I would like if we reach a certain form of consensus.
Standard Target Triple Light MK1 ( or -ST-L1 )

How to Install:
1-Find your userdesign.txt at C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\CDE and do a backup. By default the game do backup, but better be prudent.
2-Open the userdesign using the text editor of your choice. Add the STTH1 and STTM1. It can be added anywhere within the text.
Done!
How to Use:
1-Intercept at the lowest angle possible (perpendicular in under 1m should be enough) This will ensure that your firing angle is as close to 63° as possible.
2-(optional) Aim at the large radiator at the rear. This will allow you to test focused fire and grouping.
3- Once armor penetrated, a full flank of the the ship will turn orange. (Caused by punctuated tanks exploding, note that there is also a radiation shield on the way)
To share result of a firing test, I suggest that we use the following format. Its optional obviously it doesn't have to be that formal, but I think these are the information are essential:
Target type: STTM1
Focused: Y/N
Firing distance: 000km
Intercept speed: 0.00km/s
Penetrated in: 00s of exposition or number of shot.
