Hi, I'm trying to contact an administrator for the following reason: I want to build a solid alternative to Resetera. All the greats, without the lows. A community focus on having a good time on internet, without pandering to a small vocal minority of protected members. joyfreak.com is a second alternative made to welcome that majority of past GAF members who want a fair place, where you can speak and laugh about games, without being in constant fear of what would happen if you cross an arbitrary lines. Here are some USPs: - Dev friendly place. - Inclusiveness. No racism, no sexism, no discrimination. All people deserve love and respect. - Faireness. Decisions won't be arbitrary and protected members won't be a thing. - No power-tripping moderators or admin. Gaf is dead and people won't come back. Everyone hates Era and is bailing out. We need to build an alternative without those two sites caveat and I need you for that, I need your suggestion and WE need to set it in stone, together. I want your input on building the community, and I want to involve you guys in the process. I'm also looking for moderators, so if interested, please get in touch. Otherwise, a self-promo in this sub would be very helpful and appreciated. Link: Gaming ForumsMy name over there is Aries and I would like to adopt this community!

You sure someone needs adopting here?
Elaborate on following topics: - what is Resetera and what is bad with it (with proofs) - what is GAF, why it is dead (with proofs) and why membership would matter to us - what are USPs
I give you 24h or less and then I'll delete this post as it looks like spam to me.

I'm not sure if you guys are happy with using ProBroads, a free forum software with a lot of security issues.
JoyFreak is an alternative gaming forum to ResetEra. We won't pander to the protected vocal minority that ruined NeoGaf and that same vocal minority that's ruining ResetEra for so many people as we speak. Both of those are gaming forums with very unhappy members due to the power tripping mods and the unfairness that goes on there, the proofs are all over the internet. We want gaming forums to be as fun as they once used to be and not have to worry about what to say or do just to get banned. USP is unique selling point, what makes us different to the other two communities.

Okay, now I see. But you see, this forum was created by @ qswitched himself, the creator of this game. Here he very occasionally visits us mere mortals, and here we wait for update. We are very small community and we do not have any ruin here apart from some game bugs that need to be fixed by that hypothetical update, and the amount of spam is entirely controllable. Content-wise there's a lot of designs and mods posted here in the past, along with some interesting discussions too. I guess content will stay for a while, and if not - there are archival services. Proboards platform has its problems ofc (namely attachment size), but overall I, for one, am not motivated to move elsewhere. But that's just me, and I hate captcha that you have enabled. Cross-posting here and there in hopes of increasing the player base of CoaDE? Last I heard, google bots weren't liking identical text... Not saying "impossible", but I will not do that because captcha. Feel free to edit your original message as needed, as I had to "censor" it at that time. Thank you for understanding. <= oh btw and thanks for my new status line! ;)

I see, so he's rarely ever on. Well when he does come on, I hope he sees this thread and tries to contact me if he's interested. But as you say, if you were to move over, you could leave this site as an archive. But I think the best choice here is to just bring some members over to try spread awareness of this game, it would help both communities. But in terms of "cross-posting", if you were to copy and paste the content then of course, Google wouldn't like that but if it was unique content about the game with a unique title, it would be OK. Captcha is used to protect the site from spam, it wouldn't be right to remove it altogether. No worries though, thank you for taking the time to reply and explain your concerns. Nice status

Captcha is used to protect the site from spam, it wouldn't be right to remove it altogether. keep in mind that it is pointless to ask for captcha if valid, active user "session" is in headers (by the means of cookie). You're not helping the spam problem, as user was authenticated already anyway. You're not helping the spam if you ask for captcha before reading the forum is allowed (as opposed to posting). Sane forum engines have the captcha for registration (once) and for guestposting (where it is allowed), this way they do fight spamming accounts and posts.
