A small black object with energy densities of up to GJ/kg , having no ignition requirments and has stored this energy as kinetic energy? Totally ludicrous. And it could unspool graphene/CNT wires to increase impact area. I imagine that watching a 200k RPM CNT Flywheel unspool would be rather spectacular

Graphene flywheel with flaming spikes launched at a target ship. Higher energy density than rocket fuel and all in kinetic energy. Fixed it for ya. but what would you burn?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but there should probably also be photons that collide with the bubble front. That said, aren't there versions of the bubble where the external cross-section is smaller than a proton? idk, but I feel like the bubble would have to cover the entire ship or it would collide with stuff Bigger on the inside... We are shaping spacetime after all.

Dark matter cannons? (shrugs) Sounds about as practical as a confetti gun.

I got it! Staged drones with claws on their ends. They home in on an enemy ship, dig into the hull and fire their rockets to send it spinning out of control.

Sounds about as practical as a confetti gun. As I had anticipated. Turn it around and you have a silent drive - similar to the neutrino drive but even harder to detect I got it! Staged drones with claws on their ends. They home in on an enemy ship, dig into the hull and fire their rockets to send it spinning out of control. Outlaw Star wouldn't be the same anime if you replaced the crew by silicon chips, though...

I LOVE OUTLAW STAR! In fact, there's a semi-feline race in my story known as the Eltarl. They're very different from their Ctarl inspiration, mind you.

how about make a cloud of iron filings held in place with weak magnetic forces from a long range magnet creating a 2 kilometer wide field of iron filings that gets deployed when your missile is going at 50 km/sec compared to their ship.

Projectiles accelerated and guided by lasers fired from the host ship. Similar to Breakthrough Starshot, but aimed at ships.

I recently had a weird idea after reading about Ultra Dense Deuterium. From what little I understood it is a form of metallic hydrogen but based on deuterium instead of normal hydrogen and it has an incredibly low fusion ignition requirement. Just 3 kilojoules. We might have a material that undergoes fusion from basically a love tap(in comparison to most fusion fuels). So what if we have a mass driver that fires projectiles that are made out of or carry UDD and it would undergo fusion on impact with armor? Most nukes just break when hit hard enough when here we have an in- built contact detonator. We can have armor- piercing nukes that blow up as they power through the hull. On the plus side it also uses pure fusion with almost no pesky fallout. Probably it would be prohibitively expensive and dangerous as UDD has a tendency to go fusion randomly from quantum effects but still. Another idea I had is a kugelblitz accelerator. So... small black holes evaporate explosively and you can make them by concentrating enough lasers at small enough point of space. If you could launch a kugelblitz black hole at a target you can decide where exactly it decays because exact time depends on the initial mass and it canβt feed itself below certain size. It also passes through basically everything, glows like a tiny star and is smaller than a proton. So it is kind of an updated version of a Travellerβs Meson Accelerator concept. But instead of having an equivalent of a bunch of gamma rays teleporting behind any armor you get an equivalent of a large nuke teleporting in fraction of a second before going off worth of gamma rays behind any armor.

Ship taser. Electrically charged harpoon that pierces the hull and sends a massive surge that disables electronics. What about using some sort of particle beam as a channel for the electricity rather than a physical harpoon? Like an electrolaser, except in space and using a particle beam as the channel rather than creating one by ionizing the air with a laser? I've used such a weapon in a soft sci-fi setting before; no idea how practical it would realistically be though.
