After spending 5 or 6 hours trying to fix broken code... IT BEGINS Rules: All ships have a minimum DeltaV of 5 km/s. All entrants have a maximum weight limit of 1 kiloton to be split amongst any number of given ships. All entrants ship cost must be under 5 Mc given any number of ships. All entrants must use stock materials and designs, compliant with rules present in patch 1.1.1. Any number of ships can be used, provided cost/weight limit is complied with. All matches are run on a best 2 of 3 basis, switching between "green" and "red" after each round. All designs will be run with a stock AI, chosen by the creator. No hands on involvement besides recording of the trials, and setups. All rounds will be recorded with 0 commentary or involvement from the host, besides hosting of course.
Any entry without having given an AI doctrine will have the AI chosen by the host, making an "educated guess" on the ship intent.

One of em still has bulk boron in his armor scheme. Thats a bit harsh. Atleast change it to amorphous carbon or something.

So yeah, the sword and board in mine. I actually submitted 2 different ships; the other one had a hueg 1Gw laser turret with matching MPD, but that was when there weren't enough ships to fill the board.

Love the diversity of designs. We have 4x variance in deltaV, 100x in acceleration, more than 100x in heat signature.
We have no armor, frontal only, solid armor, stuffed Whipple shield. MPD, NTR, and chemical rockets. I don't see any coilguns but other than it looks like we have all the major weapons systems covered (probably no megaton nukes, given the costing, by maybe somebody will surprise me).

I can't wait to see how this pans out. I regret going dark for a while, I have a design that I think might do well.
No offense apophys, but I wanna see that laser star get smashed (if only because I suck at Las design)

Amusing (to me) note: given the cost and mass, you could afford all of the contestant entries as the player fleet in Vesta Overkill with 3Kt and 220Mc to spare. Poor Celestine Voitenko would never know what hit her.

I'm most intimidated by Dhan 's One Trick Pony. If our designs face off, it looks like a mutual kill would be the most likely outcome. Also I notice its reactor got updated to the version in my entry (my publicly released reactor is v3). Nice, lol. |
