Isnt the biggest limitation the melting point of the coils ? And the material with the highest melting temp is some tungsten alloy, and it melts past 6.42km/s Dissociation % is also a critical factor. The highest melting point in the game currently is Tantalum Hafninum Carbide at ~4400. I made my earlier engine cheaper so it should be competitive now.

Maybe it was that, cant remember, not at computer right now. But I think I tried a bunch of materials, and couldnt cost effectively get faster than 6.42km/s
