Not in my case (AMD GPUs here). Well yes I did saw one GL_OUT_OF_MEMORY, but it was just one, two years ago. Example of more spooky ill game process:

And I have never got SIGILL, but a lot of GL_OUT_OF_MEMORY, either in framebuffer or texture. Mind you, my CoaDE is a bit of a smoketest WRT to the amount of stuff I have in it.

Needless to say that 6Gb is plenty and theoretically should suffice. Practice somehow diverges. It shouldn't, but it does. This is strange. Have You tried to do some DDU/install other driver version rounds? Long time ago, when nVidia was imposed on me (in part by bad ATI driver quality back then, in part by availability), I had to try quite a number of progressively older drivers (like, 5). I recall that one time beta driver was more stable for my usage than WHQL one, but probably just once.I must admit that since then I moved to AMD stuff exclusively because of nVidia drivers. I'd rather have an Intel integrated, than to struggle with that green stuff again, tbh. Other possibility would be that CDE.exe does silly things with GL e.g. has bugs, and/or OpenGL implementation for Your GPU/drivers is sub-par.
