Recent Hostilities have drastically increased the need for the rapid transport of essential troops and supplies. - Allied Behavior: A
ggressive unless specified otherwise Manual Control and Ignore Range is now allowed
SCORING: - Success requires disabling the Enemy Escort Carrier (automatic 1 point).
- 1 point for surviving Liberty Assault Cutters that still have delta V
- 2 points for surviving Liberty Assault Cutters that have no damaged crew modules.
- Maximum of 10 points.

Difficulty Level 2: Enemy Fleet Composition: Cutter and Escort Carrier, Enemy AI Behavior: Cunning. Difficulty Level 3: Preset: Vesta Overkill with preset Enemy Fleet Composition and Behavior, friendly fleet size may be increased. Subtract four points for each additional friendly ship.
The goal is to build something interesting outside of your comfort zone. Hopefully I didn't ban or your favorite material. Try not to use anything that is broken physics-wise or to cheese with a mostly harmless 1Mm laser pointer.
Thermometric generators will be required, I tried to give enough credits for reasonable power levels. PO-210 is banned due to the short half-life.
Requirements are mutable, challenge feedback is welcome. No, you're not getting fission reactors. I might allow a maximum of 20 missiles per ship, but no drones if you complain enough.

I don't have the time for a full write up right now but this was really fun to design. The design highlights are a Strontium-90 RTG, 34 km/s Aluminum/NIM Coilgun, and a Tungsten rocket nozzle. Total ship cost is 31.2 Mc. The coilguns easily outrange all the drones ingame so I think we may need some sort of gun limtation or a deadlier drone opponent.

Total ship cost is 31.2 Mc. The coilguns easily outrange all the drones ingame so I think we may need some sort of gun limtation or a deadlier drone opponent. Added difficulty level 2 and 3 tests. Does your gun use a payload that weighs less than one gram? Should sub-gram payloads be ruled unsportsmanlike? WHAT!? NO FISSION POWER ADMIRAL!? Not enough trained nuclear technicians. You can't let just anyone operate and fix a nuclear reactor that operates one Kelvin from meltdown and just barely extends into the sub-critical range. This game needs fuel cell generators for short lived bursts of power.

Shockingly enough, this thing here actually satisfies all requirements. And it clears the evaluation before the enemy reaches 500 km (takes about 15 minutes though). Laser noob here, why is that laser so gigantic ? With low power input like this, a laser needs a large aperture to reach a decent intensity at 1 Mm range. I have this laser hitting 18 MW/m 2 at 1 Mm.

Also apophys was the requirements to be an armored troop carrier? Added a 15kJ armor requirement (1g@5.48km/s), but the giant laser module can serve as armor equivalent. The additional dry mass shouldn't affect the posted designs much.
