Hey Guys First off, I just set up my account after lurking for a week or two. got the game about 2 weeks ago and been playing it probably way too much XD. Fucking love space shit. KSP may have kept me from getting a physics degree back in the day Dx lel. anywho, bout a week before i found this game I decided I would try to make a Space Blimp Simulator game. I've been trying to learn to code but its too boring getting the console to say stuff so I figured I needed to just try and make a game. Am obsessed with blimps and airships and the idea of going to space with an airship a la jpaerospace.com/ ... so i figured that would be my game. wanted to have it let you design ships but I thought that might be too much scope/too hard. but then i found this game and got caught up in "market research" for most of the day the last couple weeks xD Really wanted to unlock the module editor but had to beat that dang Vista Overkill first and that took me a few days, had to make custom ships. guess Im just seeing if any of yall have any takes on what a blimp game should be like and or on if you think airship to orbit is a good IRL idea. So I designed something in the ship editor that seems to fit the bill. filling it with enough fuel for LEO makes it a bit too heavy to float at the target air density of.001 kg/m^3, but it can float with some fuel in the tank, I figure you can just fill it at the last minute and let it start sinking for a bit as it gains speed and aerodynamic lift during take off. most of the DV comes from too low of thrust MPD thrusters but maybe they can come on either once it higher, or they can be a stand in for some sort of higher thrust ram jet sort of engine. Its got a dry weight of about 18kT and is a bit over 5 km long and 2.3 km wide. carries 250 people.
