Having an option to have my turrets lead targets based on a rocket payloads final velocity rather than initial would be very handy. In the quest for silly high velocitys and high rates of fire I have been testing some small rockets that get fired from a cannon. Naturaly the turrets aim for a point based on the 5~kms they get from the cannon but not the 20~kms they gain over the first few seconds of flight.
having the option to adjust Target lead for projectiles as well as a manual setting in flight for accelerateing targets make a lot of designs that should be viable functional. Additionaly having the option for turrets to fire in a wide pattern could be usefull to catch agile ships or to spread damage over a Targets area to hit more critical systems before being forced to retarget.
In summery: some adjustment in editor for final velocity of projectiles.
In flight ajustments for distributing projectiles over an area.
Maybe an option for turrets to go round robin and track to a module untill an adjustable number of projectiles are fired where it wants before panning over to the next module.(need this for ships on missiles too)
(Fix the turrets algorithms to adjust for Target acceleration as well as velocity)
Oh and while I'm here a missile guidence pattern that just adjusts lateral velocity only in the final approach. (I need it for added accuracy on giant nuke cannons - a worthy cause - projectiles are already heavy and it saves on needed fuel mass.)
