It may well be that what You want is another RC entity entirely (light&small, not universal), which seems to be best (read: with minimum hassle) addressed by my former proposition in the 2nd part of this post, e.g. generic incapsulated blackbox modules, best served with some kind of AntennaRange-like functionality, but I digress.
You have more or less stated what I have been trying to get at: I don't like being locked into the "one size fits all" guidance solution, because it doesn't. I think I will circumvent this in the short term by editing the definitions for guidance modules.
Show me a battery chemistry that doesn't exhibit stable and predictable voltage curves, and I will be sure never to use it for anything digital.
Sure, but the amount of shielding you would need to pack into a missile to mitigate that threat would turn it into a rather large drone device. I'd rather shield the drone. No matter what you do, you cannot design one weapon system to do everything.
Unless you plan to build a drone capable of hundreds of G acceleration, the bigger concern IRL is crashing them. LiPo packs tend to explode when they are physically deformed.
Not familiar with The Expanse, and have not had time to watch the linked video yet - been a busy week.
