So the challenge is simple: to create a boosted fusion nuke without using tritium as fusion fuel. I created this challenge because guys in this forum love to use tritium as fuel to boost the performance of their nuke. But irl tritium boosted nuke require regular refuel of tritium as tritium decay over time and thus affect the fireball size in action if not replenish regularly. And it affect long term storage of nuclear weapons. And that why I posted this challenge. I would also use a formula to measure the effectiveness of your guy's tritium free nuke: yield in equivalent of killoton of TNT divided by the mass of the design in kg. For example if a design have a mass of 100 kg have a yield of 10kt it will get a score of 0.1. A ranking would be used to compare the effectiveness of designs from players. I failed to see the point, as using anything else provides no performance benefit. It will then become a challenge of "build a fission nuke and add minimum D-He3"..

You do realize that tritium is radioactive with half-life of 12.32 years, right? This means that traveling for years can affect the nuke's yield dramatically, especially for low-tech ships without the ability to breed tritium.

D-He3 is useable though, and works well in low yield nukes, not as well as H2-H3 but well enough, in high yield nukes you need D-T

Well that's quite expensive... But that's alright because what the challenge focus is the weight to yield ratio of designs. Wanna see some plutonium-based nuke too

Is it even possible to use anything other than DT or DH? Yes I think. After all D-Li and D-D fusion based devices were successfully tested IRL.

Modern devices use lithium to create tritium in the bomb, circumventing the decay issue.
I wonder if modding in Lithium-6 Deuteride fusion boosting is possible.
