Aluminium nickel...something works as the cheapest effective options to me.
But well, I really won't exactly say that electric actuator is mass efficient...
But it basically allow you to use turret for large guns with really low power consumption instead of going megawatt just to turn it around.
I can see it being superior to momentum wheels in some situations, but it just depends on which you want to use.
EDIT:
Also, the gun launched payload is just so easy to use now.
I can just click launch and a missile will get fired and strike the target.
Just need to, you know, make sure it actually was aimed at the target first.

In the new Limits.txt there is an entry like this: RailsSubModule Thickness_m .01 10 Length_m .1 50 Feel free to change that second length number to, say... 9999999. <3 Too bad I can't wrap my spinal guns in my fuel tanks. Or mount multiple spinal guns off-center of a really pointy nose with armored curvilinear shutters that open only during firing. Spoil me more, qswitched-sama!

Uh where did the mods folder go? im trying to add some .obj files and my old method required the folder but now it seems to have vanished, there is a general models folder but it includes mainly planets and moons so im not sure if that is the right spot.

Yay, we can use more than 1 ton of control rod and moderator!

has the extreme vulnerability of laser lenses been fixed (So a flashlight cant kill a laser star anymore) ?

are counterlasers totally useless now tho ?
becuase i think that IRL, small, weaker lasers snuffing out bigger, more powerful lasers when their vulnerable optics were exposed would be a thing. its just that the vulnerability was way overstated, but it would still be there. so instead of 100kW lasers killing 10GW lasers, it would be like 5MW lasers killing 100MW lasers

A decrease of 200000x efficiency at least after some rough calculation.

100000% efficiency loss ?
that seems like to much. im no laser and optics expert, but that seems very high

Presumably they're still a thing, just more realistic.

Counterlasers must now be able to actually damage whatever material they are shooting at to be useful - being able to scratch the paint of whatever ship they are shooting at is a realistic requirement.
100 mw Jasonvances can still suppress 10 GW doomstars, but you need actual mirrors now and not flashlights!

You seem to be using the steamapps directory. The one to use since modding support was properly implemented should still be in #:\Users\#\AppData\Roaming\CDE

On other note, distributed fire is fucking good and awesome. Because we need them now due to the stock drones going back to be THE demonic spider of CoaDe. Why? Because they have a sloped armored face now and they went from one shot kill to eat bullets for breakfast. Not sure how well they do against laser but I believe the answer is somewhere between 'Oh shit, laser doesn't work now!' to '*INCOHERENT SCREAMING OF HORRIFIED CREWS*" Yeah as far as I can tell, lasers basically just don't hurt them anymore unless you have some kind of stupidly powerful death ray. That said, I've not been finding them all that hard to kill. I just turn my anti-capital railguns on them and a squadron of them die in no more than a few seconds. Ironically, the ones I made for point defence actually do a much worse job. And yes, distributed fire is great.

In terms of distributed fire, my point defense ships will no longer be massive death lasers but cheap ships with millions of 1g railguns.
