does the projectile to long for barrel waring happen, if it does then fleck coilguns will suffer

Just pointing this out... flect isn't a word, it should be fleck. We need to do some digging and see where this idea spawned Fleck is too common and therefore boring. I read the word Flect somewhere in some Sci-Fantasy setting, and it stuck in the recesses of my mind until the day Apophys-chan broke needleguns further than I ever dared - and the word instantly attached itself to this design, as if it knew all along where it belonged.

Flect it is! When did y'all do the collab? Searching messages indicates I made the offer on Jan 25th; which was accepted almost instantly. I provided an initial blueprint + design concept on the 26th, and I assume Apophys started work immediately. After our first collaborative effort proved successful, I handed him all my most cutting edge kinetic prototypes. He managed to improve half the ideas I handed him within the week too; jeeze.

Now this. THIS is what Like I've always wanted to push the railgun meta, and you guys knocked it out of the park.

FYI, a 213mg osmium pellet will punch through and through 50m of osmium armor.

does the projectile to long for barrel warning happen, if it does then fleck coilguns will suffer This warning occurs when the projectile is at least as long as the barrel. E.g. 50m projectile with 50m barrel. If the projectile is just slightly shorter, it is fine. E.g. 49.9m projectile with 50m barrel. Coilguns don't seem to benefit from long projectiles as railguns do. Standard coilgun projectiles are 1g MMG thin pancakes with no payload.

FYI, a 213mg osmium pellet will punch through and through 50m of osmium armor. If you take a look at my post on the design thread, 26.7 micrograms of Graphogel is plenty lethal, creating wound tracks through even 100m Osmium ;p

Would be nice if we could get more designs. Actually, what would I need to do to switch my needleguns to this? Just radshield(of desired material) and spacer and replace the needle with that?

If you take a look at my post on the design thread, 26.7 nanograms of Graphogel is plenty lethal, creating wound tracks through even 100m Osmium ;p part of me wonders if the nanogram particle stream would actually have that effect or if it is a result of a quirk in the damage system.

Figured it was time I joined the fun. Just over 1Mc baby! Ammo uses a chip, spacer, chip layout. Need to make an Osmium asteroid and test weather this makes a difference.

newageofpowerI was digging around on the forum for the first mention of a spacer in a needlegun payload, and I found one on 31 Jan. Y'all posted the collab on 2 Feb... When was the original flect gun screenshot taken?

Fyi, a 49.9m long aerogel radiation shield is just as laggy as chip/spacer payloads. I think projectile length is the main cause of the impact lag and crazy penetration.
