Remote controls alone cost 4.65c. Are you a wizard? I also want to see / use that design, yes. My current micromissile is at 9.4c (but that's the Fluorine Hydrogen KKV that has a tendency of not being able to shut its engines off). Huh. Whoooops Built a tiny missile engine for ludicrously cheap cost added fuel, saw 3.9c (before remote) and assumed I had a viable sub 4c missile.

Radial mounts and sub systems would be excellent improvements. I could put my Flourine Tanks around the Methane Tank, and decrease overall length.

Radial mounts and sub systems would be excellent improvements. I could put my Flourine Tanks around the Methane Tank, and decrease overall length. Or not fluorine tanks around crew modules, on second thought, that sounds dangerous, even if the gas is inert. But nuclear reactors tend to have lots of radial space around them. And more traditional turrets that don't point normal would be nice, especially if you could choose their elevation to allow massed forward firepower. If the turret can swing left and right but limited elevation traverse you can still cover the space is an ocean battleship broadsides. Maybe I just don't make my ball turrets big enough.
In regards to ammo, for drones and often for missiles I tend to keep the ammo separate from the launcher/gun. I suppose you could do it for all kinetics for no penalty and even ammunition usage, but the weapon attachment doesn't seem to be much of a concern.

In general we need better ship design and optimisation, we are generally kinda limited to the cylindar ship for the time being but i hope that changes.
