anyone got some pointers on making tiny nukes? never bothered playing with them so far, and and i'm not about to comb through 34 pages of the "post your designs here" thread.

Boron carbide, u233, and nanothermite if I remember off the top of my head. Go for 3cm/125t design rather then 2cm/95t since what you save in mass doesn't translate to power well.

Has anyone tried NEFP with kiloton range nukes?

Has anyone tried NEFP with kiloton range nukes? A few patches ago it was the norm to use kt and mt range warheads for this, later however the game started calculating the pressure from the fusion fuel and mini nukes became significantly less powerful. So in a sense yes.

You might try the following thread, at least it's 9 pages instead of 34. Although you might want to skip the first half dozen pages, back when you could cram fusion fuel in at 20000 kg/m^3. 9 page pocket nukes threadThe following are my two preferred mini-nukes, the first for cost and the second for size.

my "mini" nukes are 20cm diameter 48kt designs Of what weight ? Nuke weights tend to be in certain islands of efficiency after which weight seems to go up for not much benefit.

I'd like to see something conclusive indicating that NEFPs actually work in the game. I haven't been able to make a working NEFP design myself, but if anyone who thinks they have wants to take the time and do some science, here's what I would do: - Do a control run without the penetrator pancake. See if the damage can be accounted for by just the nuke. - If any sort of chemical explosive is present in the pancake, do a control run without the nuke. A non-nuclear missile with a tiny explosive payload will happily create quite a hole just from the kinetic energy of the missile fragmenting. They can be very damaging and the result may resemble NEFP damage. See if this doesn't account for the damage. If these two tests don't cause the same sort of damage (massive penetration) as the full EFP weapon, I'd think at this point it'd be pretty well shown to work. Maybe someone has already done similar things.

I can't remember their name, but I am 100% confident that their profile gender is female, and their name is probably begins with z, or something. I'll find.

Does anyone know what tonnage you need to trigger the NEFP effect? I'm running some tests with an 11-fragment 5-kilo diamond flak bomb and a 500 t nuke right now, but the results with and without the nuke seem to be more or less the same.

Mass of a NEFP weapon is defined by the range you want the NEFP to have. I have a 891g NEFP warhead with an effective range of 20m and 150kg versions that can hit several km out, it's more a mater of preference then anything else.
