So, I made several versions of my ADMGS(Area Denial Multi Gun System), each has the same fuel tank and thruster platform but different guns, firing different weight projectile at similar fire rate but different weight, all of them still fire at speed of about 1.5 kmps I'm going to see if any of the heavier projectile will work better than lighter gun later when I was free. In the meantime, I made this. I explained how it works in the Post your designs here thread, but I gonna say it again. The ship basically focus all its armor onto the frontal hull to protect its light but exposed and vulnerable fuel tank. With such high delta-V, it was made to run the hell away from anything especially nuke because it would be the death of it as the flash would annihilate lots of fuel tank. Though most of the time, it will be paired with a laser ship to give it immunity to missiles and drones. If it even get into a fight with another capital ship somehow, it just aim its frontal hull at the enemy and get the job done. Of course, with such sloped armor and 2.5 cm of osmium, it can probably get the job done with coilguns and drones. So yeah, I'm basically perfectly the art of running away after dumping all your shit onto the enemy.

Hmmm... Just a question, but is there a limit to number of gun you can mount on your drones without causing an increased number of drone controlled back at the main ship? Just a question really, I'm totally not planning on something insane. EDIT: As much as I would like to post this, double posting seems awkward. So here's one thing I love about my area denial multi gun system. In which 50 separated ultra micro gun drones produced beautiful cross that will make Neon Genesis Evangelion jealous.

No, and I believe it's an unintentional "bug" because that's what's making 'pocket battleships' so absurd right now...

This is a question of "how much can be automated". Right now, as long as you have just one drone launcher, you can put as many guns per drone as you want / launch as many drones as you want.
I recognize that having 4 guys managing unlimited drone engagements stretches belief, but I'd like for drone swarms to be possible (if you require a fixed number of people per drone / drone weapon, this effectively creates a minimum size cap on the drone -- where you'd improve combat, mass, and cost by using larger drones in a smaller amount and less pilots.) I may be biased in favor of automation.

Yes I believe that it will be logical if there was a price - more operators on the mothership for each additional gun ? That would be fair. Some sophisticated equipment would need their own controllers in a way, and a drone would need a pilot, gunner, and maybe a technician to monitor heat and energy within the drone unit if it possesses a high amount of technology per part. I doubt a drone would exceed a maximum of 3-4 crew controllers, though. Because it kinda strikes me as odd how a capital ship needs more crew for the same parts than a drone does.

I thought that drones use a combination of local computer control (those giant Remote Control modules have to do something, don't they?) and remote control on nearby bodies. After all, if only drones remain of your attacking force, you still get to control them.
