I'm really satisfied with about half of the OST to CoaDE, but a lot of times I'll end up playing my own tunes because the other tracks don't hit quite capture the tense excitement of a calculated space battle the way Solar Echoes does. What do you all listen to while you play?
For my own part I've always really been a fan of the FTL soundtrack, which I find fitting for the parallels between its combat gameplay and CoaDE's, in themes if not in realism.

This, everyday all day, while i do not mind the imperial side of the music i vastly prefer the free planets side music mix. If not that than this, if Battlestar Galactica taught me anything it was that Taiko drum music and war are a match made for Ares himself:
Other favourites worth mentioning are: Great for a long symphonic experience ebbs and flows nicely with battle.
Karn Evil 9 has got to be one of my all time favourite compositions, shit is so great i got a tattoo once and barely notice over how much i was fucking digging this song. Just plain fantastic.

Not so much "soundtrack" as listening to appropriately thematic audiobooks. Currently going through the Starfire series again in anticipation of the next Honor Harrington novel.
Though, when there's music involved, it's something like this:

Can't think of anything more fitting than Two steps from hell I have found Two Steps from Hell impossible to take seriously lately. It oscillates between the perfect score for a half-serious action-comedy in need of slightly over-the-top soundtrack, to so bombastic even the heaviest parodies couldn't use it. Given the tone of the campaign, the former is pretty spot-on. For nostalgia's sake: (Yes, this is my favourite Homeworld game. Don't you dare judging me )

From what I can gather from the story missions and infolinks, the world of COADE is something along the lines of a hellish dystopia. So I've been using this playlist I made for a cyberpunk paper and pencil RPG I wanted to run a while ago:

First track here is the classic spacewar theme to me. Also fond of the TEC themes from SoaSE.

No i agree, the remastered looks great, but the classic has such an incredibly endearing amount of detail in everything, i love the old low poly hand painted pixel ships, it's kindah prettier in a nostalgic sense,

Yep, this moment, in the original wins the prize for the most electrifying cinematic that I have ever seen in a game. I could hardly imagine a better start. My phone was waking me for years with the adagio and sounds of engines.
