But diamond has higher young's modulus than the aerogel which makes the diamond a better chooce for stiffining? Graphite Aerogel is super not dense which allows you to have more of it and still have it be lighter (and cheaper) then diamond I'm pretty sure it wouldn't make a noticeable difference in the real world though. The game just seems to use the total barrel thickness when computing beam deflection stress, with little regard to what the materials used are. Plus those three-meter thick barrels look pretty stupid.

Plus those three-meter thick barrels look pretty stupid. most likely not, but it works in game and a 200 meter long rail still looks like a noodle with 10 meters of aerogel clading it. it's also better then diamond or boron filiment at stiffining

well i made a 100N rocket for the gun (it was made for drones) I like tiny engines, although I haven't made anything quite that low-power or cost. These two would at least fit in the same size as yours: I think I made these engines for various micromissile tests at some point. They're quite a lot heavier thanks to the higher injector RPM, but price-wise they're pretty close. Maybe you can find something to improve there if you need to at some point.

i set mine to 5.05km/s to get better effiency

Since exit velocity affects dv only linearly, you don't want to spend too much mass to get the last few percentages of v_e.

Shorter barrels are lighter, and can turn faster on turrets. > Try other materials for your barrel if you like. Nitro is very good for cost. My gun microdrone swarmers use nitro. For thousands of rounds of octo (assuming high velocity high energy gun) I could use a more powerful weapons system other than a gun.
